My straight roommate had gone last Tuesday afternoon and I wasn't expecting him to come back 'til Sunday so I thought I was free to do everything I want in the room.

As I was at the middle of doing "it" this morning, I heard a chiming keys outside the front of the door. Thanks to the manual lock, I was able to delay his entrance to close the laptop's lid and head to the bathroom to put on something.

Living with him for 1 and a half year, this happened for the first time and it felt very awkward.

It's happened time a plenty for me, and worst yet was my roommate and his girlfriend too. That was a tad awkward....
One time last year though, I was... ya know... finishing... and I heard him slip his key into the door so I packed everything away and buckled up and made a mess in my pants... that sucked a lot. Plus the fact that we live in a 10'x20' cell (essentially)

Almost all guys do it though, gay or straight. So it doesn't prove anything other than that you are a typical guy if he had caught you.

As Lex says though, it's embarrassing for both of you if you get caught.

You know what sucks? When you're...occupied, the doorbell rings, you're the only one at home so you have to stop and go answer the door, and it's some religious fundies who come to doors and ask if you've thought about God lately. (Not that this has ever happened to me, of course. *innocent face*)

Not to my way of thinking.

My roommate was straight. He was somewhat homophobic, but that was mainly due to just never being around anyone gay. He did his best to override his upbringing and be accepting, and is now not homophobic in the slightest. He tried to be a good friend to me, even though we had nothing in common. But I could tell the whole "gay" thing weirded him out a bit.

Had he known I was there, he wouldn't have been doing it. He would've been mortified and messed-up. Was I sneaking a peek? How long had I been watching? Had I done this before? He might never have truly relaxed and enjoyed a solo session again that year, thinking back to that time I walked in on him.

That'd suck. I wouldn't wish that on him. Better that I left. Besides, I don't have any interest in anyone who doesn't have any interest in me.
