Wow first gay marriage in Cali and now the 9th Court of Appeals just said that the military cannot discharge people based on their sexual orientation. ] Ive thought about the military for a while now, but havent decided, a lot because of the whole anit-gay thing. I doubt it will end there, but still its interesting heres a link about it http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080522/ap_on_re_us/military_gays;_ylt=AiDeE0G5A2J5D1OCUIic__JvzwcF
Dude... seriously? o.o So, is this like the end of the "Dont Ask, Don't Tell" thing? -furiously reads article as quick as he can- EDIT: Okay, so it's not. But it's still insanely awesome. And it was in Seattle, too... so I have no idea why I didn't hear anything about this since I watched the news for an hour tonight.
This is amazing, and makes me very happy indeed. What particularly caused even the conservative to question "don't ask, don't tell" were the stories that recently arose from the Iraq war, where soldiers preforming crucial duties were discharged for their sexual preference becoming public knowledge. Even if it hasn't been abolished just yet, this means that people with power in the United States armed forces acknowledge just how ridiculous and counterproductive the consequences of "don't ask, don't tell" are. That's not what the Greeks thought! ^^
