I'm planning to go to the Gay Bars in Bali(Indonesia) alone. If your wondering why I'm going alone, well, I can't tell my straight friends to come along. :icon_redf It shall also be my first time in going to a Gay Bar. I'm quite aware of the prostitution and things in the Gay Bars because of the stories that I've heard. I'd like to hear your stories, advice, tips for a guy who's going to his first Gay Bar and he is going alone... plus it's in a different territory.
Don't accept drinks from anyone. Not even if they seem nice. Be social, but be cautious. I'm not a huge fun of gay bars though, I only went once or twice, but I know that if I hadn't gone with friends I'd be dead bored.
I could offer advice about going to a gay bar in America alone, but it seems they're quite different from the ones there. Lex
yeah, be careful with drinks.. unless you got it yourself or saw it's entire creation/opening, dont trust it..
The drink advice is well substantiated; keep them flowing gently and not drowning levels and you should be okay. Most of all have fun! Enjoy yourself!
I would avoid alcohol if your going alone also i would check you have a fully charged mobile phone and credit I would look for exits to .
Ok that's the don'ts. Here's the dos: Do smile. People often respond and if they don't, it's their issue. Get on the dance floor and dance! While there make eye contact with cute guys. Dont be afraid to find yourself dancing with one. Ask your bartenders name. Smile. Go back to that bartender. Tip well. Go Early, leave early. Never let the lights come on at closing time. (I hate this) Find a place that is quieter for conversation if you meet someone. (even if it is a smoking area... Uggg ) Go into it with a mindset that you will have fun!
Brendan and I ended up going to one last night. It was open-mic night...and there was hardly anyone there. We went to the LGBT group last night, and they always do an "after party" where they split up and go to either Steak N Shake or Metro, a gay nightclub (18+). We opted to go to Metro, and that was one of the most useless experiences I've ever had.
