Gay men and parenting practices:
The Everyday Lived Experience of Gay Fathers

PARTICIPANTS REQUIRED
For STUDY

You are invited to participate in a research study that will examine the everyday lives of gay fathers, the struggles and rewards that they experience on a daily level and how that may affect their perceptions and experiences of fatherhood.

I plan on furthering the literature that is available on gay fathers in order to provide a better understanding of their perspectives.

The research will involve a one-two hour interview where you will be asked a variety of questions including and not limited to your experiences as a gay parent, the particular formation of your family and your interactions with family, friends, colleagues and society, and the challenges you may face as a gay parent. Your participation in this study will be extremely valuable and will contribute greatly to a better understanding of gay parenting.

I responded and yesterday I met with her and we did talk for about 2 hours. I'm not exactly sure what the outcome will be, but I thought it was a worthwhile topic for research and discussion. The more people that are interested in talking about homosexuality - in a positive way - the better!!!

She is still looking for participants to include in her research. If any of the dad's in this forum are interested in speaking with her, she is willing to conduct the interview by phone. Please give it some thought. I have her contact information and can forward it to you if you PM me.

I feel like I've contributed to 'the cause' by participating.

I'll do that right now. And I admit that I'm intentionally 'bumping' this thread back up on the chance there are other dads out there that might be interested.
