Yeah, number #1 rule about the chatroom, we don't talk about the chatroom.

And you can change the background color if you want! (Although I don't recommend that since blue seems to work best with most of the font colors used.)

I've been using using the chat room for 2 years, and while it does vary from day to day, it's pretty safe to say, based on my experience, that most activity in the chat room is from around 10pm to 2am EST.

The most amazing people I've ever met, to boot.

I've been in there with like, 6 people before and it felt too hectic for me. Though I did end up having one-on-one conversations with some folk, trying to partake in a conversation with tons of people was difficult - though as Bolin said, some really cool people go in there.

Obviously I'm a regular member now so I haven't gone into it in forever, but I'm sure it hasn't changed much.

 

There's serious issues in there? I'm more familiar with the totally random singalongs

 

How come regular members can't use the chatroom as well?

They don't have access to the Chat Room for the same reason that Regular Members don't have access to PMing other Regular Members: security purposes. But it's easy to become a Full Member, granted that you're on the site for the right reasons. Be a Regular Member for 2+ weeks, make 50+ posts outside of the Fun and Games section, and then apply here.
