The "Westboro Baptist Church" will be up in Parkersburg protesting the funerals of those who died in this weekend's tornadoes on Saturday.

:tantrum: These people are just unbelievable.

People lost everything. An entire community was torn apart. 7 people died.

And they are going to protest their funerals!

:bang: It just makes me FURIOUS!

On another forum, a guy from up there said "emotions are running high enough in Butler County that it could get pretty ugly."

I don't usually like violence, but I hope they make those :***:ing lunatics regret what they're doing.

Ah...I just discovered another reason(aside from the usual) as to why they are coming up here to protest.

Last time they were in Iowa protesting military funerals, the Iowa State Legislature ordered that they had to stay away. So they're coming to protest now to "get back at Iowa".

    Just disgusting.....

I think we should protest, ourselves... but make the topics all the stuff that's alongside the homophobia in the book of revelations. Mixed fibres, you know, stuff like that.

Set up our own protest group saying that God hates anyone who doesn't follow all these silly little irrelevant laws.

Mr. Phelps needs a big hug from a thousand gay men and women dressed in leather and fairy costumes.

This is simply crazy. I cannot understand anyone using their god to condemn people who died in a natural disaster. I really connot believe they are able to sleep at night, knowing how ignorant they are being with using their god as a reason to persecute people

Am I the only one, that while hating them, find them amusing? I mean, I seriously think Fred Phelps just does this to piss everyone off. There's this one video of him laughing because it rained everywhere on Independence Day, like he's just laughing his ass off. I honestly think he just does it to get people pissed off, he loves having people hate him.
Also, has anyone seen that documentary on them? America's Most Hated Family by Louis Theroux (possibly misspelled), if not, you should really watch it. It's kind of enlightening, they're all pretty much brainwashed, and brings some humanity to the younger members.

He has been interviewed saying he likes being hated. He says that there's a passage in the bible along the lines of "The masses shall scorn and despise you," that sort of applies to him. But only sorta. That's why he does it.

I never will understand these people. It seems silly to claim that every person who dies is because of 'God's wrath'. I'm not quite sure what type of world they live in, but last time i checked the world was still a pretty homophobic place and was not all 'fag-enablers' (to use a word from their lingo).

I hope the tornado comes back and gets them. ^_^

Of course, God hates Iowa. I mean, look at the place. I kid! I kid!

It must be fun being in that group. Every time someone joins their cause, it's because they're doing God's work. Any time someone goes against them, it's...well, it's because they're doing God's work! See how easy that is?

Hey, be nice to poor old Iowa:wink:

Anyways, good news. The National Guard isn't allowing anybody into the city that doesn't need to be there. So, it sounds like Phelps and his loons won't be able to get near the church where the funeral is being held.

"Now look at that, a country that tolerates gay people! How do I let them know that they're wrong? I could instantly kill every gay person in the world...or perhaps set fire to the homes of every person who supports homosexuality...nah, too obvious, I'll just send a tornado down to Iowa. They'll understand that."

I think every gay person in the WORLD.

    should make a pilgrimage

    to WBC's HQ.

It just may spark into WWIII.

    But it'll be FABULOUS WWIII.
