When I was a young fella growing up in Sydney, I loved the hour later of sunshine for I got to muck around but after living up in Queensland for about 15 years, over half of them in the tropics, I have grown use to not tampering with the time. Who wants a melting hot day at 8pm?

DTS starts Sunday morning(2am --> 3am) on this coming Sunday morning(6 Oct) and sooky me isn't looking forward to the body clock mess. The children don't particular like it either as they experienced DTS for their first time last summer.

So for you lot in parts of Australia that has DTS, it his this coming weekend, Sunday morning.

I hear ya. I also grew up in southern Sydney (The Shire) and now live in Queensland. NSW would take the piss out of QLD for not having DLS, but after 13 years in QLD I believe QLD was onto a winner all the time and I would be disappointed if we got DLS as I believe that NSW should be discussion NOT having DLS.

I like being up at 4am with the sun in the middle of summer...sleep is for the weak.

It's always melting hot at eight at night in Queensland.

I don't like daylight savings, but there's not enough reason to get rid of it. One hour never does my sleep pattern any harm.

I don't have any strong feelings about daylight savings. I get used to the time change within a day or two and then don't think about it.

There are places like Rockhampton where it does not start to cool down until it's dark where daylight often brings temps of 38'C - 42'C with humidity between 90% to 100%. Night time cools down to 30'C to 35'C with humidity at about 70%.

The only argument I hear from people in favour is so they can go shopping. I suggest they face their fear of the dark.

Ours was this Sunday that just passed.

I've always thought it silly that, just as the days are starting to get longer as we move into Summer, we have to move the clocks forward an hour... shouldn't it be the opposite and we do this in Winter?

There is nothing you can do in daylight that you can't do at night anyway...who needs the extra hour for a BBQ for example?

I honestly never thought that way, it does make sense but I would prefer no DLS

I just hate the sun. I don't care what time it makes an appearance. I do think its pretty unnecessary. Sometimes, I don't even notice it, since all my stuff updates automatically.

I'm in two minds about this. Up until recently I was completely against the idea as I find sunlight after 7pm just all too much.

Now I work indoors I am actually coming around to the idea so I can at least get a bit of sunshine each day.

Same for me. I don't really mind the additional hour of sunlight, considering I work evenings and it's nice not having to work in the dark all of the time.
