How'd you find EC?

I think from a friend on Facebook.

 

I was looking for an article to show my mom as I was planning on coming out to her at that time, and one of the search results was on the "For Parents" page titled, "But I don't want my son/daughter to be gay!" I realized that this site with a catchy name, "Empty Closets" had a great forum and a real sense of community, and so I signed up. When I made my first post in the welcome lounge, I was warmly welcomed with open arms and everybody told me how cool my username was, and the rest is history. I was thinking about that earlier and that was what compelled me to write the open letter earlier today.

 

When I came out to my friend, he came out to me right after I told him. Then we talked for a while and he mentioned this site so I thought I would check it out...and I'm here

 

I was probably looking for coming out stories.

 

I was referred here after being kicked off another nameless forum for being underage.

 

Tried another site, but the atmosphere was very different, so I surfed the internet and found this haven

 

I found a link on a six billion secrets comment. Somebody's secret was that they were gay and they were too scared to come out. So, somebody put a link here. I came here, and I have not left since

I think I found it on Google, I can't remember. I was in a pretty bad place back then (and to think it was only about a year ago....)

 

after jumping between yahoo answers and another gay forum, the other gay forum, and browsing this forum's old thread, i finally decided to join here

 

You can become a mod in that short span of time?

 

I googled the words "gay lonely" one day when I was feeling depressed.

 

Googled forums for lgbt and this was the first result and since I'm not a fan of scrolling I clicked it and stalked around for a few minutes and then stalked around for another 20 minutes trying to find the register button :lol:

 

I was googling what I thought was my orientation (heteroromantic homosexual) when I stumbled across a thread made here. I nosed around the site and found that it had such a lively and amazing community, and I knew I just had to sign up. I didn't actually sign up until about 4-5 months later though.

 

It was only a month ago and already I can't fully remember. :icon_sad: I think I was Googling something and then someone mentioned it on a site, so I Googled the forum name and looked around. I think it was a week later, after reading many threads, that I decided to join.

 

Saw it mentioned a few different times on another gay forum...& finally decided to check it out

 

It was a week ago exact and I was looking for over the top ideas for coming out of my walk in closet :lol:

 

I googled LGBT forums, and here I am.
