In case anybody's interested, I write fanfiction and I have a livejournal account where I'm starting to post some of it. So far it's just Harry Potter fics there, specifically femslash. So if anybody's interested, you can see it here: http://sprawling-song.livejournal.com/

Thanks if you do read any of it, and I always want criticism.

    Spread the femslash love!!

I've read "My Immortal" by bloodyrists. After that, I can't read anymore Harry Potter fanfic. Sorry

I've written some fanfic myself. (Yes, and I'm in my 30s. Deal with it.) It's a lot of fun.

Because school is really a torture element, I swear.

Fanfics are okay, but the ones I hate are the "first-person I'm dating a celebrity" fanfic. It's just creepy. As much as I might think a certain celebrity is hot *cough* Lisa Rizzo *cough*, I'm not gonna write a story about dating her.

    *giggles*

Have you seen the youtube version? It's just the whole thing being spoken by computerised voices. Pretty darn funny.

I used to write fan fiction when I was younger, but it was pretty corny (I was only 11, and it was spawned from my love of FF7 with a friend) so I never showed it to anyone else but the friend. It is indeed a lot of fun, and every now and then I'll have the desire to write more, but I never have any ideas. :frowning2:

This My Immortal sounds pretty important. Is there something strange about it? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'd love to read your stuff as well, if you'd want to share them. Besides, writers get better with age so what's wrong with a fanficcer in his 30s??

No giggling at my fanfic, please. It's damn good. Actually, I haven't written any in at least a year. The muse hasn't stopped by to visit since. And we all know how great the fanfic is when you try to force it...

What Plan 9 From Outer Space is to the cinema...
What Metal Machine Music is to recorded music...
    ...My Immortal is to fanfic.

Haha no, I wasn't giggling at you for writing fanfiction. I've found some neat fanfiction by uh... the "older generation"? (I dunno why 38 is classed as so old, but yeah)

The fact that someone else has heard of My Immortal. xD You should really check out the Youtube versions... really points out how ridiculous it is, especially the "sex scene" in the forbidden forest. Now that was a laugh.

That whole fic hurts. Let's leave it at that.

My favourite is probably Gold Tinted Spectacles by Beren. That's quite nice.

At GayAuthors.org there is an author who goes by the name of Myr.

He did an effen FANTASTIC Harry Potter Fan Fiction. It is amazing. He is currently rewriting his over 30 chapter fan fiction because now that the final book has come out he is putting some of the things from the final book in it. He started writing it after the fourth book came out. It is basically an alternate fifth book.

By far the best I've ever seen.

    EDIT:

Parliament Of Dreams is what I'm talking about.

That one was quite good, but I wasn't mad for it.

I'm still signed up to GayAuthors, mind you. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Get their mail every now and again.

Oh, I should actually say that the REAL reason I didn't read your fanfic is that I know zero about Harry Potter. Never read the books or saw the movies, and fanfic is tough to get through if you don't know the source material fairly well.

...and to head people off at the pass, yes, I'm sure the books (and/or movies) are stellar. But no, I'm not going to read 'em. I have enough books on my "to read" list as it is.

Strangely (and thankfully), LJ isn't blocked at my school. I studied I.T. for two years, and the only way I survived was by spending half my lessons on LJ. I became really goood at laughing silently, I had a tendency to find the funniest stuff in the middle of class where I couldn't laugh out loud.

I used to write a lot of fanfiction, back when I was about 12. I deleted it all last year - I shuder to think how bad it must have been. I've only just started again, and it's for a book series that I'm not going to mention here

    My Immortal OMG.

I read that first thinking it was the world's greatest parody. I honestly thought nobody could possibly write that badly. You have no idea just how shocked I was when I found out it was actually somebody trying to write seriously.

I myself am a (don't laugh) South Park fanfic afficionado. The best thing I've ever read has to be "Fighting the truth", link below.

    http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2737384/1/Fighting_The_Truth

Of course, because the main characters are all male, there are a lot of Slashfics around, but this is one of the best.

    I also write, sort of...

    http://www.fanfiction.net/~gariand

Yes, I write South Park fanfics too... I said before, don't laugh.
