So if someone gave you a nifty piece of kit that could turn you straight, would you use them?

    Why or why not?

I don't know. I used to really want to be straight... But now, I guess it's not so bad being gay.

No, because then I wouldn´t have my boyfriend...
I bet that those who say yes, are all single.
Love changes that kind of thing, you see.

I think there was a time that I might have used them but not anymore. I had a mini-revelation this week as I spent some time with an incredibly beautiful (definitely straight) woman. I know that nothing would happen but I suddenly thought "what a pity if I couldn't see/sense how incredibly hot she was" and I thought "Yep, I definitely want to be gay, however hard it is, because I love being able to see what I see in great women".

Absolutely not. I went from being scared shitless and cementing myself into the closet at 14 to in love at 18 and not giving a flying f*** who knows (aside from my family).

No. I don't really put enough weight into being gay for it to make me wish otherwise.

Plus I like being gay. Especially in the era in which I live, since so many changes are happening for LGBT people around the world.

I'm not sure. I really like finally accepting who I am. But I am married to a man and have kids. It would make my life easier. I guess these straighteners would make me feel as comfortable with myself as I feel now that I'm acknowledging who I am. So maybe.

But really, I'm so impressed with the gay community, with the changes, laws and social justice that's happening, I don't know that I'd want to miss out being a part if that.

I have a huge problem with living my life for other people. If I were trying to live for other people, then I'd use them. I'm trying to learn how to live for me, in that case I would not.

What a great thought provoking question.

I thought this was about hair straighteners. I would use them.

I wouldn't make myself straight though. Unless their effect was temporary like a hair straightener's, in which case I'd try it once.

No, absolutely not, it would fundamentally change who I am in ways I wouldn't like. At some points in my life I definitely would have said yes, and at the time of course I pretended I was straight, but at this point I've learned to just stop worrying and love being a homo. :newcolor:

No way. People would see me even more as a lesbian then they do now. And I'm really trying to avoid having that label stuck to me, because I'm in no way a lesbian, and never will be, but society says otherwise. Besides, guys are just awesome...too bad I don't have the parts a gay man would want. :<

My sexuality's never given me trouble. If it were a kit that could turn me cisgendered...I'd highly consider it. I'm not ashamed of being transgender (quite the opposite) but it'd certainly save me a few bucks and trouble with the family.

Not anymore. I'm past the stage of wanting to be straight. I've come so far with coming out and all, and I feel comfortable with myself and proud, even. I've already had to come out twice to some people (started as bisexual, back then I probably would have taken the 'straighteners'), and I'd prefer to not have to make that three. They'd probably think I am some kind of joke, lol.

I like liking both girls and boys. If someone took the gay part of my orientation away, it would be like losing part of what makes me me. So no
