I didn't know where to put this, but I just had to share! So I'm in 10th grade, and at the end of one of my periods, we discussed about gay marriage and such, and out of 2 people the rest of the class were VERY accepting to adopting and even the guys (because mostly guys tend to be ignorant on the subject) were also accepting! I even talked to someone else online and I told them that I like this one girl and they treated me completely normal and continued to offer me advice! I feel normal for once, I feel loved by people who yet don't know about my identity, but it still makes me feel great and in relief! And possibly even more brave to come out in the near future! ride: P.S. As for the 2 people who didn't agree, everyone else came onto them and told them that it's perfectly OK and totally SHUNNED them!
That's awesome!!! I wonder how my classes would react to the topic.. Sadly many teachers don't just bring up this kind of topics.
Yes, encouraging indeed! Thanks! Well, my teacher is very flexible and she's more like a friend than a teacher so she would have a conversation on just about anything. But I really hope that people are accepting were you're at, too!
That's great to hear! I wish my school experiences were like that. My teachers never brought it up though since it tends to get heated 90% of the time.
I wish I had more discussions like this, I think if we did I'd have a greater appreciation for the debate. Perhaps it's time for me to step back into the debating club! Anyways, that's really encouraging that after a sane discussion people come to that conclusion, I guess people can often surprise you like that.
