I did not choose to be gay and I tried very unsuccessfully to adopt a heterosexual lifestyle but I just became incredibly unhappy and was causing a lot of hurt to those around me. Being gay does not conflict with my faith and if I am made feel unwelcome in the future I will simply change my christian denomination. I saw a video years ago (I wish I could find it) where an interviewer goes around asking lots of Americans "would you vote for a heterosexual president?" and there are loads of them saying "No, no I don't think I would be comfortable with that", or "I don't have anything against heterosexuality but I don't think that would be appropriate"...
