So, on most forums, you get pretty much a fairly decent mix of like Atheists and Christians being the majority and so forth.

However, I know a lot of LGBT members who have had a faith their entire life and now actually struggle to believe in the same God-figure because their God is not accepting of them and condemns them. But in most cases, probably not actual God, but more the community.

So, I'm actually interested to hear about what you guys consider your faith to be as of now and if it changed, why did it change?

For instance, I was brought up Catholic as half of my family are Irish and are very very devout. However, even from a young age, I did not believe in their God or their morals, I just liked their idea of a greater bring watching over us all. I just labelled myself Christian for many years, but after realising what some of the Christian community is like: I don't wish to be a part of it anymore. I still like the idea of a greater being, so I consider myself as simply spiritual.

We've kept this civil so far, so please, let's keep it that way. I really hate to see this thread go to hell with all the screaming and arguing and having the thread locked like we've seen in previous threads of the same topic.

That being said, I tend to be an atheist, though I'm also apatheist, where I really don't care whether god exists or not.

It is, but it's a fairly big denomination in places like Spain and Ireland so I just tend to put them separately xD

There are probably other big denominations out there that I'm not aware of, I'm sorry if I missed them

I was born in Christianity but I don't have a religion I follow but I do believe something is out there that made this world and thats is what I would call god whatever it is. I tend to try avoid these conversations seems most of the time discussions on this end up in heated views or disagreements. I have no problem with who believes in what it their decision not mine nor can I dictate which is right or wrong I am not god and will only know who he or what is when i die.

I was raised as a Muslim.

There is a competition within the Muslim community to show who is most aggressive towards homosexuals. The more aggressive you are the more religious/masculine you appear. Homosexuality is considered worse than rape/murder. So I dislike Muslims in general as a result of their attitudes towards homosexuals.

To be honest I don't care if Muslims around the world are killed/mistreated. Most would not hesitate to treat me like dirt if they had the chance.

I was raised as wiccan/pagan and it's stuck with me most of my life. A few years ago, I was introduced to Celtic Heathenism and that has really struck a chord with me.

I have been fortunate that all the Muslims I have met have been very understanding people, if they did not like homosexuality before meeting me, they certainly are fine with it now. Not had one problem

It is different for you because your a non-Muslim and a woman. Usually if your a Muslim man and gay you receive more negativity (e.g. insults, dirty looks and so on).

Yes there are some Muslims who are understanding of homosexuality and a few will even support it. However, the vast majority have a strong negative stance against homosexuals.

I'm ranting now but I don't like most of them. Especially the ones that cry out human rights when it suits them. Then again I dislike all communities so... : P

    You drive a good point.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the communities. I'm going to quite a traditional Shisha bar tomorrow and I'm not sure they're going to be happy I'm there

I'm an atheist. My dad is Buddhist and my mom is Christian. However, we almost never talked about religion in my house in a devout way, just an analytical way. While it was very interesting, neither one stuck with me as a way of belief.
