It's more of a preference.

Like liking slim twinky types, or geeks, or whatever. Fetishes are more about peculiar ways of having sex, not about who you're having sex with.

Yeah chubby would be more of a classifcation than a fetish, fetishes usually involve like objects or limbs in particular that get you like sexually excited.

I'm a chubby chaser myself, and the way I see it, if only fat guys turn you on, not skinny guys, it counts loosely as a fetish.

I don't mind guys with a bit of extra weight on them, but I also like guys who are fit. That's more preference.

As said earlier, a fat fettish is when you exclusively like those who are overweight or obese, and are sexually stimulated by associated activities (belly rubs, feeding, etc).
Also the thought of someone (or you) becoming overweight/obese turning you on is another factor.

Though there is a clear difference between preference and fettish, many people (myself included) can get them mixed up sometimes.
