So I saw the sweet thank you thread for veterans and military so I thought I would start this. I fyou are in, going in or out share with us what branch and AFSC/MOS you were and perhaps where you stayed (if you feel safe doing so) I was a 2W271 - Nuclear Weapons Specialist for 8 years in Minot Air Force Base, ND When I went reserve I was a 3M071 - Services (see also: cook) I enjoyed my time in and would love to go back and retire but my addiction problems preclude me from coming back Foxface
I am in the Canadian Army as a combat engineer. Been in since 1999....and sometimes think that is long enough. I've served in Bosnia and Afghanistan as well as training in the UK (Sennybridge) and the US (Eglin AFB). Presently posted to Edmonton,Alberta with 1 Combat Engineer Regiment but originally from Ontario. And contemplating retiring to Florida or California..hah! Foxface, that sounds like quite the change of pace from Nuclear Wpns tech to cook....! Coincidentally, Edmonton was the first North American military base to fly the pride flag over it. It was flown to coincide with Edmonton's pride week. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/06/07/cfb-edmonton-pride-flag_n_3404683.html
