Has this happened to any of you? My parents always joke it will happen to me because I stress so much, but it is a possibility as both of my dad's brothers started going gray in their early twenties. It got me thinking and I was wondering how common it is for people to lose their color at a young age. Not looking for advice or anything, just a fun discussion

I hope not. If my hair were to turn gray I'd look like J. Mascis!

my hair color is black, but now about 1/4 of it is gray. I've been growing gray hair since I was like 14 though, so it took a decade for it to get this gray.

Initially I was upset that it started shifting gray but women compliment me and I have yet to receive any negative comments, so I've embraced the gray hairs. Just look at George Clooney, who has salt n pepper hair too, and all the women fawn over him. I kinda resemble Clooney only I'm younger and more handsome  By the time your hair turns gray, you'll probably be George Clooneys age, the hair will make you look sophisticated if your hair color is dark, and like Clooney women will fawn over you, just like they fawn over me.

I'm only 24 and I already have a few gray hairs, right in the front, too! I used to clip them, but I don't care anymore.

I have some gray hair already and I first noticed it was starting to change when I was a sophomore.

Nop, but I wouldn't mind too much if I did. That sort of thing is random. Like one kid I used to work with, lost all of his teeth and needed dentures at 18 despite brushing and flossing every day before that point. So my hair going gray while I'm still in my 20s or 30s? Don't care, because it was going to happen anyway.

I'm 23 and finding a lot of greys, both on their own and in little clusters. I found my first when I was 15.

Luckily for me, my dad still has a full head of hair and none of it is gray at 52. My mom on the other hand seems to be going gray but she dyes it to keep it from looking like that

I am 27 and have more than a few gray hairs, mostly all on the sides of my head and none on top. Over the past couple of years I've been upset over aging and seeing my facial features, especially my eyes lose that youthful glow. Now, I just look tired and probably older than I actually am. But I now aging is an inescapable reality.

I'm exact opposite. No gray hair, and just last year, I was asked how old I was and when I said 26 (I'm 27 now), the guy told me he thought I was 19.

I actually went to the hair dressers a few weeks back. As she started to comb my hair she went "oh, I've found a grey". Immediately ran to her her colleagues to distribute her findings, which led to a barrage of questioning and discussion on how I can combat my greyness.

I started getting a few in high school--I recall someone asking me if I had been painting ceilings because the streaks looked like a little spilled paint. By college there was enough that I felt self-conscious and colored it regularly (Nice and Easy Natural Dark Brown #120!). But by my early 30's I stopped, partly out of curiosity because I didn't really know just HOW grey it was anymore, and partly because people kept saying how "distinguished" it looked. Now it's completely white. I've been tempted to color it again to see what I would look like, but I'm pretty visible in my community and I really think it would be very jarring!

Mine is definitely in the genes. My mom went grey young as well and colored it her entire adult life, and HER mother was so gray by her late 20's (during World War II) that people kept asking her "how many boys she had over there". Something tells me she cried a lot!

I've been graying since I was 12, and I now dye my hair to my natural color whenever I get a haircut. I'll be dying it again tonight.

Hah - isn't your "natural color" actually gray now, in that case?

No, it's jet black, just like in that picture. I took that picture before I started dying my hair.

I haven't, and since I'm blonde, it'll only make my hair look the slightest bit lighter like it has for my dad.

Now I do have a friend at school who's 28 and he already has a couple gray streaks going through his hair

I completely misread the title of this thread. I thought it said " have any of y'all gone premuaturely gay?"

I obviously had something else on my mind

I wouldn't know. I dye my hair too often.
