My hair has been bothering me to the point where I want to shave my head! It just bothers me like crazy where I want to start screaming and crying and I know this sounds crazy but it's true and my hair is fucking pissing me off! Just so you know, the hairstyle I have in my profile picture is different than my current style. (My profile picture is from April) I'm bored from my old hairstyle and my new one is bothering me! I want to shave my hair but my parents won't let me. I don't want to shave all of it, but most of it. What should I do?

You should go to a barber.

Try reasoning with them sensibly about why you should be allowed to choose your own haircut.

If that doesn't work, chill, a haircut can't affect your happiness

Hey, I felt the same way when I was younger...started buzzing my hair instead. I decided I like my thick, jet black hair and decided to keep it.

I found I had to break my parents in, as far as hairstyles went. First, I had it spiky. Then, really long in front, and short everywhere else. Then, maybe at 17 came the mohawk, and they freaked out a bit, but got over it.

Not to say you need to be extreme, but maybe you can talk to them about what you want, and reach a compromise.

After all, you won't be being as crazy as I was!

    Good luck, here.

Oh, and a pair of electric clippers are a good investment. They have different attachments/guards so you can buzz-cut it to various lengths from barely anything, to fuzzy to maybe even a bit longer. This way, you can have a friend do it, and save money. It's pretty easy.

i went through a "i want a buzz cut phase". i had my hair buzzed when i was young, but i don't think it'd look flattering now. i've been through many phases in fact, a "i want to dye my hair dark brown phase" (still recovering from this), to a "i want curly hair" one for a brief while, and now i'm obsessed with growing my hair and shaving off the sides, so far it's only been executed relatively well once, but the other times rather poorly. i need to find a good hairdresser/barber person. and professional help. i needed to get that all out. feel better now.

just go for it. it'll grow back.

Your parents can't stop you over something so trivial.

I'd rather die than get a buzz cut. Okay maybe that's overreacting, but it's a close call.

But yeah, like the others said: if you like it, do it. It's not like it's some life-changing thing. It'll grow back.

Not really something you should be telling a 14 year old. >_>

His parents can indeed stop him. If he does it without their permission, they can punish him.

But I always buzz cut my hair every few months. Hair's thinning due to genetics, so I'm going to have to go bald in a few years anyway. xD But I like buzz cuts, have since I was a kid.

I feel for you. I would hate to have so much hair. I love buzz cuts. Head feels light weight and fresh.

And he is capable of considering the consequences of his actions. I don't see why I shouldn't be telling him that, and I also don't see how they can stop him. Punishment doesn't equal prevention. And they probably wouldn't, anyway.

I personally like my hair low, it's less distracting and lighter weight on my head. Every single time if I go get a haircut and mass of hair is cut from my head, I feel lighter

    but that's personal preference lol.
