This is a report of something I shared on another site: ----------------------- Here's an adventure from Tumblr. A blogger had a post running for a certain amount of time (I never screen capped it so I don't know when the original date was). The post was them threatening suicide if they don't get a certain number of posts. I decided to be a "good citizen" and bring their name to the staff in case it was a serious post (can't take chances). About 24 hours later I decided to see if the post was still up. I was met with this instead. Let this be a lesson to you. (high res version is on tumblr) -- Higher res still of the post DONT BE FUCKING STUPID -- the blog Moral: Suicide isn't a joke. Mental Illnesses and Suicide aren't funny.
I really hate it when people use suicide as a means for attention (unless it's a plea for help in a genuine case). Suicide is serious, and idiots latch onto false cases so they can dismiss the pain of everyone who feels suicidal or in any way depressed. It's unequivocally wrong and diminishes real suffering. That said, I don't believe that most suicidal posts are fake. We can't let a handful of attention-seekers ruin the credibility of people with mental illness.
Nor do I, which is why I take threats seriously when I see them. It's just sad that people exploit people who are struggling and lost their lives.
some may be, but really , can't take the risk, I actually died in an attempt, it took paddles and a stab in the heart with the drugs and I still ended up in a coma for 24 hours afterwards I know others who succeeded and could not be brought back in our segment of society it does not even take mental illness - it may just be seen as the only way to escape a heinous painful life of abuse/bullying
well i tell ya about it, i was an admin on a mostly teens emo forum, even though wasnt emo myself had many friends that were there, lots of users girls and others used to once in a while sort of seek attention lets say, everyone was in the chat room and they were like this is their ''uncle'' parent'' whatever, he/ or she is in the hospital now for cutting for example, 15 mins later they were sort of like hey im back sorry to worry you guys, and i mean many times the staff got issues cause of that and later they were like ''the uncles threatning staff with legal demands, i agree is unpleasant when they play with serious things like that, is not a theme to joke about
Was the original post for real? Meaning was that person actually going to do it? If so they could have just not been thinking straight, or very much at all. If not, yes, sick joke, but never attribute to malice what you can to ignorance.
Yeah I believe so. They said something about 100,000 notes before the 7th. They apparently made a promise to their friend (which I guess is they wouldn't do it but whatever). ---------- Post added 6th Dec 2013 at 01:43 AM ---------- Oh that in my bar. It's what it the thing says. I was writing something and needed ideas. That's all. I wasn't sure what you were talking about at first...
