Does anyone else have loads of revision or work to do over the christmas period? I have a lot. First year no work my ass lol
Some people actually have to work on the special days (Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31, Jan. 1)... so it could be worse, honestly. In a few ways, being busy is good! Hopefully you at least are less busy than you would be if it were school-time.
I'm a student this year but we finish final exams and projects this week so I'll have the holiday season off. Yeah!
Actually, I was one of those people in years past. Christmas morning in a internet support call center are dead quiet, but late afternoon and evening, phones are crazy because people can't figure out how to hook up their new computer to the internet. This year, I hope my uncle isn't too busy when he works on Christmas. (My uncle is a cop.) And, I know things will be busy the day or two after Christmas, it always is after the big family holidays...
not working I Finnish on 20th till 6th although I may need to do a few hours 27th . Marks sister is a care assistant who has to work this year and one of my friends is a paramedic also working this year .
Not to rub it in or anything, but this is the first year in about 10 that I won't have to work over the holidays. I have mixed emotions, excited to be able to stay at home yet weirded out that my old career is at least not in the picture at this moment.
I'll be working over the holidays. We got a month off between semesters but I'm staying so that I can make some money. Winter housing is free here and the office where I work has to stay open year-round anyway, might as well make as much money as I can before classed start up. Everything is so expensive.
It depends if I get a job that I hope to get, and if that happens before I return to school on the fifth (it is a tech writer contractor job, so I think I will be able to do it at school). I have a number of personal projects that I hope to make progress on over the holidays (A novel-in-progress that is about 33% done), but that is only incumbent upon my motivation and inspiration.
For as long as I can remember, the holiday season involved having two weeks off of school. Now that I've got a job, that no longer happens. Although I do have the 25th and 26th off (idk about the 31st), I'm working my ass off on other days, days which I would normally be free. Even have to work on the weekend this week because of the chaos christmas brings. Yep, that's monday to sunday. I might die, tbh.
Working at a busier store (fast food) than usual between Dec 26 and Jan 4 to help them cope with increased sales. I do get Christmas eve and Christmas day off, though.
I work in retail. The week of Christmas, I have 5 overnights. The store that I work at is open 24 hours from Dec. 20-24. I do get Christmas off though, so that is nice.
I guess I shouldn't rub it in that I'm taking 2 weeks of paid vacation from the 23rd on, going back to work on the 6th. Gotta work my ass off this week though
from tomorrow working 7 days back to back. but gotta be done, ive worked so much over the xmas period its unreal thought my legs might have fallen off by now with the amount of running around ive done
im only 13 but i have work. and during the holiday i am now going to get triple shifts. not on christmas though. how great is that. i love my work
Yup, first time in years! I am actually writing this from the library now - I should be studying, but I get distracted too easily!
