 I would like to buy myself a new watch. But I have no idea what brand, how it should look like or how much I will be willing to spend. I would like something decent that would go well together with office clothes. I guess I have been waiting for love at first sight

The one I have I was given at my 18, and that is hmm some time ago already :rolle:

Do you wear a watch? With a strap or a bracelet? Do you have several or do you stick to just one?

Pictures would be great! (*hug*)

I have a few sports watches (they're sturdy and can take a few hits), and a nicer Fossil watch. When I'm a bit older, I'll buy a watch much nicer than my Fossil; it's nice, but it's not great.

I absolutely hate metal wristbands around the watch; it looks awful, but I can't use leather, either.

It all depends what you like and what you're using it for.

I have a sports watch too. It's yellow and digital, I can't read analog clocks. The main reason I got it was because I can go swimming in it and it won't die.

I like the Swiss Army watches myself, simple, functional, precise and well-made. I have the same one since the early nineties, changed the battery just once, lol!

Had a Seiko and a Citizen, both with leather straps. They weren't too costly. I lost them both after about 5 to 10 years each, and I'm pretty vigilant about things. Now, I just have a Timex with a leather strap and I like it. Liked the plain, not too fancy Seiko the best, though.

I have my trusty ol' Swiss Army watch with a plain leather strap and a Timex Weekender. Both are nice.

I just had a Swatch. It was a decent watch, but dad seems to have permanently borrowed it off me when his Tissot died.

I gave up on watches after that, and now I use my phone. I might get myself a smartwatch once they're good enough though.

I have a cheap digital Armitron that I've used for 10 years. My other tan armitron digital was beat up pretty good in my motorcycle wreck (it was on the handle bars of the bike so I could tell time while riding). It still works though.

I also have a nice faux-gold and leather analog watch that I wear if I'm dressed up. Unfortunately the battery just died and I have to replace it.

Then I have my grandfather's silver pocket watch and a pocket watch I bought at goodwill for its radium painted dial hands. I felt bad about breaking it though, so I still use it sometimes. Those have no batteries and you just wind them up and go.

Someone gave me an Elgin brand watch. It has both digital and analog readings. This one costs about forty US dollars. However, they have a wide range of prices. This is close to how it looks. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Elgin-II-big-sport-mens-analog-digital-combo-watch-EL2F2-/00/s/NTc2WDEwMjQ=/z/opMAAMXQ~TtRKUhi/$T2eC16R,!zcE9s4g3IvWBRKUhiTsBw~~60_35.JPG

I have a silver (fake silver/metal) watch, which I'll wear everywhere except showers and bed. With Analogue face, and the band is made of links. It can take a hit.

I also have a fob watch, which I'll wear on fancy occasions. That's just a tarnished bronze color.

I also have a Swatch watch that I wore for many years until the band broke and I realized there were no exact matches. I like the clean lines and simple design. Now I just use it as a clock in my bathroom. :/ My phone has been its replacement, but I do miss wearing a watch sometimes.

I have the projects, past present a future watch. Designed by Daniel William Harris. It has a stainless steel strap and a quirky interface...

    I wear a Seiko 5 SNK809K2.

It's smart enough to be a dress watch without looking too dressy to wear every day.

I haven't worn a wrist watch in ages, use my phone nowadays. Much easier.
