In your opinion, should drugs be legal? Why?

Personally, I think yes, including 'hard' drugs. For a number of reasons. Its a personal choice, and government should butt out of that sort of thing. Also, as everyone has seen, drugs are used anyway, and they a) make money for criminals, b) are impossible to regulate, so can end up with more dangerous substances in them c) it is harder for people to get addiction help.

I think it should be taxed, age restricted, and regulated. And legal.

I don't think drugs like crack and meth should be legalised. All should be decriminalised but those two (and others) should be completely eradicated from society. It's tragic that people turn to substances like that and become complete addicts.

I would only want full control of drugs if I was lord and master of my country. I would always know what's right for my people.:roflmao:

In the absence of that, I don't trust anyone else with that decision; perhaps we should make if so the maximum penalty for personal use of hard drugs (not drug trafficking) is rehabilitation at a professional facility, at taxpayers expense, as opposed to jail. The discriminatory nature of drug offense penalties is what's most appalling to me.

  4. I with you

Portugal did this things are far better there than here and things did not fall apart and it would free the police up and the prisions and not only would we stop SPENDING taxes on all this crap we would make money on taxes

thien we could use all the saved money plus the extra income to help people

plus with all that there will be less crime, no drug lords, no gang warfare since there is no fighting for territory to sell the stuff

sell all drugs the same way we do alcohol

Well... I don't know.. It could or will be easily overused.. and society would be more unstable than it is now. I don't think it would be so regulated so easily.

Legalise ALL drugs. It is impossible to enforce the current laws.

NO POINT imprisoning people that use drugs. Doesn't do f all. These people need actual help.

I'm fine with the soft drugs being legal, the harder ones, no. Things such as crystal meth and krokodil (seriously don't google that unless you have hefty amounts of eye bleach on hand) are composed of things that have no business being in the human body. In the case of Krokodil, users are essentially injecting themselves with iodine and red phosphorous.

Absolutely legal. It should be your choice to put what you want into your body.

I don't know... I've sort of been terrified of drugs ever since my neighbor's son died from meth. I used to play with his little brother. It seems his brother is going down the same road. It's scary seeing somebody you know, for lack of a better example, turn into Mr. Hyde.

Yes, but only if they're taxed and regulated. Otherwise, chaos. I'm still unsure of the benefits of drugs like crack cocaine or methamphetamine, so I'm not going to say "all", and obviously disagree with the "your body, do whatever" philosophy.

    Anything else: no

  13. I had to look it up

the reason it has iodine and phosphorus is BECAUSE it is a street drug

if it was sold in a store it would jsut be

desomorphine and it would be pure and regulated and taxed

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desomorphine

it was when alcohol was forbidden that people were making it in their own still and the stuff what "white lightning" and people were going blind from it being adulterated

by selling the stuff correctly it does not do that - this is the whole reasoning be hind dong it the way I propose

I disagree, unless it is very heavily taxed and only to be used on private properties. I don't want to see a ton of people on the streets high on crack, meth, pcp, etc. I personally wouldn't feel safe

I couldn't decide between "decriminalized" and "soft drugs only." The harder drugs really do wreck society and they can never be legal. However, it is possible to responsibly use alcohol, marijuana, and in my humblest opinion (and in very specific scenarios), some drugs like ecstasy. If the only risk is to one's own well-being, why should we regulate it? People are responsible for what goes in their bodies and nobody else is being hurt.

Marijuana I would straight up legalize. We really do have more important things to worry about than reefer. Cocaine I would probably go with legalization for as well. With stuff like PCP, I really have no clue what should be done. On the one hand, the War on Drugs is a miserable failure that we should stop fighting, and I agree with the idea that what goes in your body is your choice. On the other, PCP causes a fuckton of danger to anyone near somebody on a trip, as well as to the person tripping.

I actually have mixed feelings on this. I'll vote when I make up my mind. I'm in favor of decriminalization of so called "soft drugs". I think criminalization does more harm than good in the case of soft drugs.

With the case of hard drugs, I'm afraid of what would happen to society if meth, heroin, and so on are legal and readily available. I don't like the idea of the government controlling what people put in their bodies but I think that legalizing hard drugs would just be too destructive. I think it would compromise others' safety too much

    I'm conflicted.
I don't think it's safe for everyone to be allowed to use drugs all the time.
At the same time, people should be free to do what they want.
I voted for the "ban drugs and criminalize their users" option, due to the fact that I couldn't decide. In retrospect, I probably should have voted that it should only be illegal to sell them.
