I remember seeing this somewhere but I cant track down the thread. So I wonder how did you find out that you were gay/lesbian? I heard many stories about people falling in love with their best friends and it went either way from there once they told the friends.
So how did you find out?

When all my friends would talk about 'hot girls' and all I could think about where the 'hot boys' - that's when I knew. This would have been when we were first noticing the opposite sex - Middle school or so.

Nice post count - they're the same! For now at least.

I've never been in love. And yet I know. I just find that I'm attracted to everyone, regardless of gender, so I call myself pansexual. End of story.

I was at a waterpark when I was about 9 and went to the changeroom to use the bathroom and saw this man strip naked and put on a Speedo. For some reason, I was, shall we say, intrigued, by his nether regions :icon_redf.

A guy hit on me in a locker room in college. I eventually took him up on it and we fooled around several times. But I didn't know until about a year later when I initiated a hookup with a different guy. Twice. I called him up, arranged the time to meet, went to his place, etc.

While he was driving me home after my second visit, I thought about it and it seemed my choices were to either continue playing mind games with my self about 'experimenting' or 'being curious' or just accept that I was gay. And I don't like mind games. So that was that.

I love that scene and the locker room scene when they are wearing towels.

I never found out that I was gay/lesbian, because I'm not gay/lesbian.

I don't remember what made me start to question, but I know I developed a crush on a friend when I was deep in denial (only recently did I accept it as a crush) who turned out to be bi (I never acted on it), and then a while after that ended I finally accepted it when I started liking (fell in love? I don't even know anymore) a close friend. So really I've only known about 8-9 months.

I have no idea what I am but I noticed guys because of friends making jokes about being gay for each other and having the rather fortunate luck of being friends with some lovely guys who like to cuddle with me. And it feels....right. I feel happy when they do that

I'd have to say I knew when I was three years old and I found my Tarzan action figure quite attractive. I feel like if I pulled him out today, I'd still find him attractive, haha!! Also, there was one boy I found particularly attractive on that PBS show Zoom when I was four (I think his name was David, which is ironic because I had a crush on a guy named David who looked like an older version of him my freshman year of high school), so a lot was already going on when I was just a toddler!

When I was in the third grade, I had a "girlfriend" who played The Sims. She pointed out the fact that she had some families led by same-sex couples, and for some reason I couldn't quite put my finger on, I was particularly intrigued by them. I refused to leave her computer room until she showed me those families and my curiosity was satiated.

Finally, I kissed my first guy when I was only 10 years old at not one, but two Boy Scout camps of all places (one was a winter camp and the other was over the summer). Needless to say that was an experience I'll never forget. We shared a tent both times, but luckily nothing sexual happened – nobody needs to lose any kind of virginity at 10!

Yeah...I realized I was "curious" about guys when I was 11 and saw a naked guy in the locker room, and for the life of me I simply could not stop staring at his stuff.

I didn't realize that this meant I was gay until I was 14 when one of my friends indirectly revealed to me that this "curiosity" I had about guys was the same thing everyone else felt whenever they found a guy/girl "hot."

I realized I liked boys when I started to develop a crush on one of my guy friends and I was pretty confused. I realized, however, that I was gay in 7th grad when everyone always talked about girls and I just wanted to talk boys. It was pretty much confirmed in 9th grade when I took my best girl friend to homecoming and it just didn't feel right at all.

It was almost like a switch turned on inside me because when I first was going through puberty, I thought I was straight. This is partially because the media, like MTV, showed only heterosexual interactions. I remember sometimes getting into masturbation and porn; though, the "porn" was really just swimsuit models and fairly tame. Watching music videos and all their sexual overload was quite a shock to a kid who had lived a sheltered life in a conservative immigrant Catholic household.

However, eventually I started to realize an attraction to men. If you've ever seen the music video of Nelly's "Hot in Herre", there are lots of attractive women, but for some reason I was focused on the guys and their masculinity. Possibly because I was not athletic and had lots of girl friends, I viewed the jocks in my school as mysterious and seductive.

During highschool, I found myself infatuated with a few of my friends. I didn't think anything of it at first, but after a while I started questions whether or not I was gay. When I was about 19, I went to a party with my bf at the time and met a girl and i'm not sure what it was about her, but I became instantly infatuated- I couldn't get her out of my head. Anyway, I was in denial for a long time and only accepted that i was bi when i was 25.

Probably when I first masturbated. I remember thinking about girls and it wasn't working, so my mind just drifted to a guy and let's just say it worked.:icon_wink

I was almost 16, and while all my female classmates seemed to be interested in boys, I wasn't. A boy kissed me once, and it was a yucky feeling. I blew it off though as just not being attracted to that particular guy. A girl I was friends with told me the same thing, and confided that she physically liked girls instead. I felt the same way, but was afraid to tell anyone. When she told me that, I admitted to her that I felt the same way. She kissed me, gently, and it felt very good. That eventually progressed to making out, and then to other things.

Looking back, I can't say whether I really fell in love with her or not. I liked her as a friend, and I physically desired her. After we broke up, I tried to be straight, because I was lead to believe that it was wrong socially, and a sin, and not normal. A straight girl told someone who expressed not liking boys that she just hadn't met the right guy yet, so I tried to date as many guys as I could. When I was 18 I thought I fell in love hard emotionally for a guy, but the physical desire never was there. Looking at his body didn't turn me on like looking at a girl. Hugging him or making out with him felt wrong, bad, like my body and his were like when you try to put 2 magnets together with the same polarity. I could've forced it if I ignored the queasy feeling in my stomach, but I didn't want to. Hooking up with a girl however, was very enjoyable. By the time I graduated high school, I knew without a doubt in my mind what I was.

I didn't know until I was in my twenties. That's when I started questioning my attraction to girls and later met some girls that I ended up having feelings for. Thinking back to it though, there were some signs. When I was in third grade, for example, everyone at school had a crush on someone. So I was thinking how I should have a crush too and I was looking around the classroom trying to pick someone to have a crush on and thinking how none of the boys were cute, girls on the other hand were pretty. I even thought how it would be easier to pick a girl to have a crush on. Of course, back then I didn't know girls could have crushes on girls. No one really talked about things like that when I was growing up. When I was 12, that awkward puberty age, I had a dream about my literature teacher who was a young woman. In that dream I was in love her and it was a pretty vivid dream. It kind of freaked me out lol, I didn't know why I would dream about something like that. These are funny things to remember.
