Which country?

After I've heard news about David Cameron wanting to regulate Britain's internet, I've been considering leaving the UK; in fact, I wasn't too happy when I had to move here from my home country, but this was because I believed this country was too "old-fashioned". I'm also looking to move country, because I've spent most of my life in here now and needed a fresh start in my life.

Initially, I wanted to move to America, but then I heard about their sub-par food standards (Mountain Dew has bromine in it) and a case about an Abercrombie and Fitch employee who was arrested because he was thought to have assaulted someone when he was just late for an interview.

If you can suggest me anything, my highest priority would have to be internet freedom and socialist politics like in Canada, New Zealand and western EU, thank you.

My biggest complaint about the US would be the greed. Everybody wants your money, and some companies are willing not only to do honest business, but to brazenly screw you out of it and laugh in your face because they hold all the cards. Maybe I don't know about other countries and it's not just an American thing (or maybe it's because I have no money so seeing people who do just hurts), but the corruption is getting to me. >.<

Other than that, we do have internet freedom, and our politics are drifting left at a steady rate, so we've got that going for us XD.

Well you'll probably enjoy Scandinavia and northern europe. Finnish healthcare is pretty good and although living is quite expensive it's not that bad. Internet is cheap.

Found out that all of the Nordic countries bar Sweden, Iceland and Greenland have conscription; that I'm not keen on.

^ Well, there is an alternative civilian service if you don't want to partake in the military. I would've done that if it were mandatory for women as well, but instead I'm a conscientious objector.

I am from the states and have been living in Sweden nearly 6 years now. .. . .can't imagine ever going back. If you can handle the dark winters it's a pretty great place.

If you prefer not to be in a country that has compulsory military training or completing civil service instead, Canada is good.

Although (and depending on your definition of socialist politics), I wouldn't say that Canada has 'socialist politics.' For North American standards yes. But in terms of European standards, not so much. Scandinavian countries fare better in that regard.

I've heard TV licencing in Sweden's worse than in the UK; it's annual, more expensive and applies to computers which can receive internet connection.

Aside from what you have mentioned, what other things would be important to you?

Oh, Mirko, as well as those I've mentioned, I wonder if Europe, Scandinavia and/or Canada are aware of social enterprise (government or people). I read on BBC Focus about how this smartphone called the Fairphone was going to come out, and looked further into ethically produced products.

I want to start moving to UK but I don't know if I want to stay in Europe forever. Canada seems lovely

This is looking like to me a viable choice; Europe kinda hates non-European immigrants because they're worried about how they will influence their country for the worst such as unemployment and social movements. I think Sweden's quite expensive to live, and the conjugations in Dutch, man, is unbelievable and like its relative German.

I'm not sure how well I'll cope with the cold (the UK's the coldest place I've been in); I'm not entirely sure if Canada is really better than the UK, or just better than America, and if it will stay that way.

I want to move to Canada sometime. Perhaps to the southern part. Maybe it's not so cold... it can't be that cold. Right...?

I'm thinking of moving to Toronto (or close to it) because of the facilities; according to my weather app, it's still experiencing snow.
