Inspired by something that came up in the interviews thread. Are breadmakers absolutely awesome, or are they the crappiest, shittiest piece of modern-day technology ever invented???
:roflmao: I saw the title and HAD to have some input; One, you have to pay for the breadmaker itself. Two, you have to pay for the ton of ingredients you shove into a breadmaker. Three, unless you are skilled at making bread, you burn it, liquidise it, set it on fire etc, practically everything except actually making semi-decent bread, and then you buy the ton of ingredients again because you "nearly had it then". Seriously, people should just buy loaves. Kingsmill and Warburtons make better bread than ANYONE with a bread maker, for less money overall.
homemade bread is money, Not cost effective but it definitely tastes better than other bread I have had. The only bread I was able to eat plain.
Definitely should've read the topic before voting. I thought you were talking about spouse status as in, who makes the money? So, nullify one yay vote. I know nothing of actual breadmakers
My dad bought a breadmaker. He makes really good bread with it!. But then he's just one of those uber cooking type people.
AAgggghhhh, don't talk to me about breadmakers. My ex bought a bread maker EVERY single meal we had and analysis of his damn bread, too moist, too dry, too much cereal, not enough, not enough yeast, the flour was too old.... It was enough to put you off eating with him. The cupboards were filled with all sorts of different flour while he tried to find out which mixes he liked best, the hall cupboard... you know the one where most people keep their hats and coats... filled with bags of flour and different yeasts! Some of it was delicious some was like hard stones. We had 'who wants some lovely fresh bread' everytime we sat down at the dining table so I used to say... no give me horrid mouldy bread! I think I'll just stay with the shop bought stuff if it's all the same to you guys!
I love my breadmaker. We found someone selling it for $15, and it was totally unused, so we didn't spend much on it. It makes awesome pizza dough, and pretty wonderful cinnamon rolls, as well as good bread. The best fruit loaves I've ever had came from that breadmaker. I'm the type of person who has the magic touch when it comes to cooking, so it works out for me pretty much every time.
Breadmakers are awesome :icon_bigg My dad makes his own bread and its really nice. And he has been making cinnamon rolls with it as well.
There is nothing better than uber fresh bread when it's warm. Mmmmm. I'm strange. I eat way too much bread and prefer it over things like chocolate.
There is nothing strange about it because I was like that few years ago. Love bread and butter :eusa_droo
I wish I could make proper bread But what I'd do is just go to a local bakery or cafe and buy freshly baked bread there whenever I have the craving
My mom knows how to make homemade bread or we just buy a loaf, so my family has no reason to buy a breadmaker. And if we bought a breadmaker, we'd have no where to put the damn thing.
I love mah breadmaker for when I have no time and I need to make an easy loaf. Of course, it isn't as good as HANDMADE bread, so when I'm preparing something special I ignore the breadmaker. ...bread is fun to make.
We had one a while ago. The main problem is that bread made in it doesn't keep as long as bread from the shop, and with just two of us we would find that it had dried out by the time we were half way through a loaf. I agree with Martin though, when it is really fresh and still warm it is delicious. I think for a family who eat quite a lot of bread it would be ideal, but for two people who don't eat that much it's not worth the bother. I voted Nay.
Breadmakers? Never even heard of them... They must not sell them around here... Since I don't see the point, I will vote 'nay'...
