My aunt contradicts herself well. She supports Duck Dynastys Robertson yet she also liked and shared my coming out post?? I dont get it. Anybody have family doing something similar
Oh THAT guy...there's plenty of reasons she could support that dude and still like your post. Some people don't like that he got fired from the show or whatever for answering a question. Some think he's OK since he apparently quoted bible verses making him one of the few bigots who apparently actually read the bloody thing, even if his usage leave a lot to be desired. She might not approve of gays in general but since it's you she'll make an exception... People are weird.
It IS weird...perhaps next time you see her agreeing to something randomly homophobic, ask her about it.
Some people randomly like comments to validate others' posts. That's how my dad is in Facebook (we're not friends on Facebook but I give him tech support when he needs it ) It could also be that she respects that guy's convictions but also respect yours. Then again, I'm just giving her the benefit of the doubt.
You think he actually read the bible and follows it opposed to just cherry picking verses that support his homophobia? Leviticus 10:6 "Do not let your hair become unkempt" No, I have a feeling it's just cherry picking.
I know a lot people didn't agree with what he said, but didn't feel like he should of been suspended, which is fair I guess. But my mom is like that. She doesn't support gay marriage and gets this disgusted look on her face when anything LGBT comes on the news, but one of her favorite singers is Elton John and she has long time friends who are gay.
@crimson, I don't think anything of the sort, I'm just repeating things I've heard from the few people I know who've talked about it. I have almost no opinion on the matter what-so-ever!
