First person you came out to?

I came out to my best friend first. I'd say she reacted well-- she kissed me! Needless to say, it felt great (although I was also really scared.) Now we've been dating for four months. Guessing my experience isn't typical though.

 

I came out to my pops first. His reaction was well even though he predicted what I was gonna say. However, I regret doing so(the only thing I regret) because he wasn't supportive like he promised.

 

I came out to my best friend, who gladly took the news in stride and as naturally as I could have hoped. Admittedly I felt pretty confident as I knew he was as accepting as could be with the LGBT, but even that doesn't entirely eliminate the jitters.

 

I came out as bi to one of my best friends at a basketball game. We were talking about why I had changed my attitude to be more pro LGBT. I used to be highly homophobic. So, I accidentally told her I was bi (which is what I was identifying as at the time) and then started crying in the middle of the basketball game my team was winning.. It was awkward.

First person I came out to as questioning was my 3 friends. We were driving back to the dorm from Walmart and all of a sudden, a car came up next to us and one of my friends mentioned that it looks like N (another friend whom I met that year), I agreed that it did. That friend (C) asked me how I knew him and then I replied that we ended up talking and stuff. It ended up as me telling C that I think I'm gay, but I'm not really sure. He came back with "Randall, you might be bi, but if you realize your gay, we will support you"
As gay: that would be my friend P, I also told him I was questioning and I confided in him a lot more information then I would have told C.

 

Came out to my best friend at the time and she was also questioning her own sexuality. So we ended up coming out together.

 

The first person that I came out to was my grandma. How did it go? Well, I pretty much broke down and started sobbing while she hugged me and told me that everything was going to okay.

I came out first to my best friend, it didn't go very well, he refuses to talk to me or sit by me.

 

Came out to my best friend in middle school via e-mail when she told me she liked me. It was okay at the time, but she eventually decided to stop talking to me more and more, and we don't talk anymore today.

First person I came out to in person was a friend I was volunteering at a children's playplace here with for one of our senior classes. We were done, and everyone else had gone home, and they had to close up, so we stood outside waiting for our moms. Somehow got onto the topic of bibles, etc. And that let to her asking me what I was, (orientation), and I told her to guess. She said gay and I said yes and she was like YES! (She's a lesbian, xD)

 

Well, I guess my actual first coming out was to people I knew on another forum I used to go to. It's easier to be openly LGBT behind a computer screen, and it did help me to stop worrying about hiding it IRL too.

The first IRL person I came out to was this friend I had a crush on. One night, we were all hanging out/drinking, and he confessed that he liked me, so I told him that I liked him back. Long story short: we ended up in his bedroom, and all my other friends found out what happened the next day.

 

I first came out my sister. She basically told me that I could just be questioning, but that if I wasn't that it was absolutely 100% okay and that she would support me. She has been my biggest supporter and friend through my coming out, I'm very lucky to have her!

 

I came out to my best friend at a sleepover. It was midnight and I paused the movie we were watching and said, "I think I might be bisexual." She took it really great.

 

The first time I came out to my younger sister was the first time I realized I was gay. I mean, I used to browse lesbian porn, read yuri manga, obsess over lesbian celebrities (Kate Moennig) but didn't think I was a lesbian. I started wondering what's up with me, finally came to a conclusion about my sexuality and went up to my sister and told her..immediately. She's young and didn't take it too well at first, but it turned out okay.

 

First person I ever came out to was this guy I had just hooked up with as he was driving me home afterward. I thought about it as we were driving along, looked at the available evidence re what we'd been doing and my lifelong and total lack of interst in females and concluded I was gay. So I told him that.

He was fine with it (no surprise) and I pretty much felt like 'right, well that's cleared up then.'
