Every once in a while I cry myself to sleep to let out all my sadness and despair. I feel that it's very healthy for me to do this and it is important for me to do this every once in a while. Does anybody else here do this?

Yes, sometimes I will cry for a little while and then lay down, but I generally don't completely fall asleep.
    Feels good.

I wouldn't say I do it very much, but sometimes I let my emotions out when I'm by myself, whether it be good crying or bad crying, to put myself to sleep.

I think that's normal. For me personally, crying can help me release frustration or stress. I feel that in society there is a bad stigma associated with crying....or at least if there isn't a stigma, individuals tend to ask "what's wrong?" and want an immediate answer. Crying is some times just therapeutic and that can be one reason why you would do it.

Thank you for being so honest, OP. When I was younger, I recall that occurring. As I have gotten older, it hasn't happened in the recent past. I'd be willing to bet a lot of people do it, seeing that most people are not evaluated when they turn off the lights to go to sleep.

My emotions are kinda weird. If someone dies in the family, it takes me a while to feel the emotions, as if they were delayed. I don't really cry myself to sleep; I bottle up my emotions and let them out at the first person who is deserving of harsh words and belittling. Like that one cashier at McDonald's who got my order wrong because she was talking to her coworker instead of paying attention to the customers and I let her have it. Though I wouldn't recommend my approach.

I'm 21 years old and I haven't cried since the 7th grade...couldn't tell you why. I assume it's not a good thing, but heck I can't really control that kind of stuff 0.0

I do it every so often. I was crying just a couple of days ago before I went to bed. I have been crying on average at least twice a month for the last year. Its been a tough year. I always feel better have a really good cry, even if it last for an hour or so. I eventually feel better, because I got everything out. I've been know to bottle things up.

Yeah. Usually when I'm feeling emotionally overwhelmed or my mom is being insensitive and self-centered, again. That and every time I come home from a trip to visit my dad because I just come home to all this crap and I know I'm going to fall into the same routine of arguing with my mom and having to hide my sexuality.

I think I remember doing it once or twice a decade ago (so around your age), but haven't really done so since then.

The only time I do now is if there is something really sad on TV or a movie. I tear up. Every. Damn. Time!

I used to do that, yes. Even if they're tears of sadness, it's healthy to just let it all out at day's end as opposed to letting the emotions build up inside of you. Now, though, it's easier said than done for me to cry even on especially frustrating days... So I usually scream into the pillow. It gives a similar feeling of release. :3

I usually only ever cry at night, when I'm alone. So I probably have a couple times.
