I know there is a sticky thread but I am just curious to know what percentage of members are what religion.

Do Not Try And Convert People or Offend People!!!! If you are curious what a certain religion is use Google/Wikipedia.

    on that note

Write in the comments what religion you are and if you want approximately how long you have been practicing that religion.

Sorry if I miss any religions. or misspell

God this topic comes up a lot.

I'm Swedish Lutheran, but I have a very liberal idea of God and see Jesus as a prophet, not a mystical being born of the Immaculate Conception. I also reject a great deal of the Bible as conservative rubbish aimed at gaining and consolidating power over believers (mostly the Old Testament and the parts added after Jesus' death and the Roman use of Christianity as a political tool.)

With that said, I also acknowledge the horrible history of Lutheranism and the Protestant movement as a whole in its role in abandoning the poor/slaves/anyone else who wasn't a white European Protestant male with middle or upper-class status to their fate under the pretext of divine predestination/will. I could go on for a long time, but I will always need to make a disclaimer about the history of my religion to make clear that I don't want its history or present romanticised nor idealised. And I won't even go into the horrors Christianity as an entire religion has brought upon the Earth.

I'm not even sure if the label I have even suits my religion; I'm Lutheran because I was raised in a Fenno-Swede household and have been exposed to predominantly Lutheran thinking and culture (though my mother is a Catholic), and that's what I identify best with.

I'm an atheist. I used to be a United Methodist Christian, but when I was thrown out, i quickly deconverted.. I had had other issues with the Church before that, so being thrown out was the last straw for me.

Wait, why is "Christian" an option, but two denominations of Christianity are also present? Only Lutheran and Catholic, no Orthodoxy or Protestantism as a whole.

I should have put Lutheran in.

I voted. I identify with a religion. I am not defined by my religion, though. I also haven't bought in 100%. Technically, I don't think there's a religion that's custom made for me, nor do I expect there to be.

A rift with a church causes people to walk. I can't say I blame them.

This is partly the reason I distanced myself from my church and became agnostic, mainly the Southern Baptists, also becoming a freethinker may have done it too.

Honestly I don't know that much about religion and I was trying to make sure the poll didn't time out before I could finish so I was in a rush

    Atheist and/or Buddhist.
    That's pretty Chinese of me.
Is it even possible to be both atheist and Buddhist?

Christian, specifically I was raised in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ (DOC) Denomination, and I occasionally attend my home church and I also attend an inter-denominational church at grad school, and a youth group that is inter-denomination, specifically, United Methodist, United Church of Christ, Episcopal, Presbyterian and Disciples of Christ. I also attended a Disciples of Christ school and church at undergrad. I like the DOC denomination, it is rather liberal in its beliefs, even though there are some conservative churches and members. I like it, even though I do not have the best relationship with my home church.

    I'm an atheist.

I doubted to vote for the Spaghetti monster, just for lulz, but decided to keep it serious.

I'm Christian. I suppose the term sums up my beliefs solidly since I pretty much believe only in the love of Jesus Christ and our Lord.

My sect of Christianity is Episcopalian. That sect is INCREDIBLY accepting of the LGBT community is particular.

I don't regularly attend church though. I used to a long time ago and fell out of habit.

Well, they threw me out, then stalked me, on the internet and in real life, and vandalized my house by burning pride flags in my yard. When they found out I am trans, they kept putting signs in my yard that said "tranny" on them. They came into my workplace and tried to have an intervention, then tore apart displays when I refused to listen and had the manager call the cops.

I personally think that's a bit much for just a "rift". (And by I had issues, I was talking more about the beliefs than the people and the church building itself.)
