    So in the interest of the fact I am having trouble keeping from posting all over facebook I am going to post here!

    WE ARE GOING TO BE MOMMIES!!!!!

    Temporary mommies at least. We are fostering a newborn boy who is the god son of a close friend. Nothing is finalized, but it looks good so far.
    The mother is unable to keep him, but didnt want him going into the system so guardianship went to our friend. She has 3 children of her own, knew we were wanting a baby anyway and contacted us.
    After a long wait, he was born! He is a little guy, only 5lbs and 3 oz, but he is healthy :slight_smile:

    I'm so nervous. So so so nervous. I really hope all the paperwork pans out. Ahhh!!!!!! We arent able to legally adopt him for another 6 months.

    Okay. I'm done being nuts. hehe okay.:icon_bigg

    Were waiting!!!!!! The god mom is meeting with us after 5 pm, so I've been going nuts all day. I'm dying to know when we can go get him.

    Congratulations!!! That is amazing, you get to be the mommies of the most beautiful baby in the world, lol. Every baby is beautiful, but for parents, their baby is always the most beautiful. Even with a low birth weight, a lot of babies do just fine, and hey you can use the bassinet and/or cradle for a longer amount of time.

    A couple things that I can tell you from helping with my niece, is invest in the industrial sized packs of diapers, you will be going through a lot. Also, regular twin size sheets will work for crib bedding, just tuck them in real tight, you not need to invest in crib sheets. There are a lot faceboook groups and website that allow you to buy, trade or sell baby clothes for really cheap, thus saving you a lot of money in the long run. I would not accept car seats second hand, unless you are absolutely sure it is up to date. Safety protocols are always advancing and you do not want to caught with a seat that is not safe. We got my 5 month old niece a little plastic today and that and her rattle are her absolute favorite, simple toys usually work. You give my niece an orange and it is the best toy in the world, lol.
