That's my problem. I ADORE being in classes, homework, papers, projects I can't be the only one right? So what are your classes for the semester? I have Statistics and Evolution I took statistics once but am retaking it now to prepare myself for Biostatistics when I start grad school again this September Evolution is merely to fulfill another science requirement for grad school as well So these are my two questions to you 1. Do you enjoy being in classes? 2. What's your class load this semester? Foxface
I enjoy school, I enjoy learining. The brain stimulation, seeing everyone's way of thinking and using that information to shape the way I approach things. It's invigorating, it's awesome sauce. I am taking Advanced Study of the Secondary Mathematical Curriculum Foundations of Geometry Mathematical Modeling Writing in The Sciences Employment Services
Well, I can't say I love it, but it sure beats the alternative! I'm taking 15 credits: - Psychometrics and individual differences - Advanced developmental issues: Autism - Fundamentals of learning - Fundamentals of personality - Educational psychology (elective) This is the heaviest courseload I've ever had so far. We'll see how it goes!
So do I. Holidays are a nightmare unless I'm doing something productive/very new. I adore the rush of finding time for (and doing) debating and essays and the countless hours of writing. The classes I'm taking next year: Spanish French Modern history English literature and language Specialist mathematics Chemistry I'm doing all classes with the IB.
I enjoy being in classes... depending on the professor. Some just have problems with communicating their points. Vocal interferences - excessive usage of um's and uh's - are a big distraction. It sounds nitpicky, but when you use "uh" 80 times in the span of two minutes, then there is a problem. Otherwise, the material is usually interesting. I'm taking physiology, genetics, intro to geriatric pharmacy, immunology, and a rotation at a community pharmacy. If I squeeze in an elective then it'll be 17 credits total. I'm ahead of game compared to other students because I took some courses over the summer. Less workload during the semester is always a plus.
Me too! I love it at school, feels great just to be around people. I'm on a one-year art course. Next week: mon – sculpting tue – printmaking wed – printmaking thu – graphic design fri – graphic design
This "semester" for me is just finishing my GRE prep. My last school semester was actually: Economics for Managerial Decisions Economic History Of The US (fun class) Economics of Antitrust & Regulation World Regional Geography (slacker/core class) Social Problems (slacker/core class) I think going to class can be fun. I really like to learn both theoretical and practical knowledge.
This semester I have everything on two very long days. Windows client administration, Public speaking, Macro eco, and principles of management.
It's weird; I have a love/hate relationship with school. I absolutely love my political science and communication classes, but I don't like the pressure of the workload. For spring semester, I'll be taking: - American political parties and interest groups - Political psychology - Political theory. Can't get enough of this, and the professor who teaches this is literally the smartest person I've ever talked to. - 21st century lit. I am really dreading this class. I don't know how anyone can stand being an English major. But no offense to them, of course.
Yup, 23 and still in college doing a PhD. I had 6 months outside of uni so far mostly working at a gay bar, it was fun but I missed learning stuff so ended up doing a MSc then my PhD
I'm still finishing up general education at community college, and this is my last semester, so I've decided to throw in a bit of electives just to fill in the time. There's a Cultural Geography Course, Pre-Calculus, Music Fundemantals, and I'm still trying to get into a language class, except they fill up super quick. Generally, I like college a lot more than high school, and didn't realize how much of a central place it took, before skipping a semester. The challenge will be trying to work, school, and have a life all at once. About 13 units? Sounds like the ideal punishment.
I go to school solely for the brain stimulation. I don't get the appeal in sports. At all. What's so entertaining about it anyway? Schedule: AP Language and Composition AP Calculus Band III,Symphonic Alaska Studies Swimming and Aquatic Games Medical Terminology (to fill that last, troublesome requirement for science.) Nevertheless, I love my afternoon classes, though I wish each period was longer. So many great discussions are ended prematurely in AP Lang... So sad.
Fifty shades of math with a side of uninteresting papers, but I managed to smuggle Dance past the College of Engineering's Anti-Fun Brigade. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy learning, but I also value my sanity and sleep.
Well, it stimulates the body and the mind. Soccer Football requires a fair bit of thinking, and it's exciting to play and to watch; I was watching a match in Portugal and it was really interesting. The winning sensation is great, and usually even if you lost it feels great to have played in a team. When you hit a runner's high after a 10K, it's so good it can become addictive; endorphins have a lot to do with the appeal in sports. oh great I miss P.E. now >__> ps. this is one of my favourite quotes from Socrates: "No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training…what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable. " // Ah I've forgot almost everything I learnt in math, already forgot the quadratic formula, everything about derivatives and anti-derivatives... I miss real school subjects now
I love school! I always felt a little weird when I was in public school because I was always sad when summer came. Everyone else seemed overjoyed that school was over. I still like school now, but there is a lot more pressure to do great in college than there was in public school. But I always like learning, and I usually get good teachers, so that also helps make it fun. My class load this semester is: College Composition 2 Calculus 2 University Physics 1
