Found this mentioned on HuffPost. Ryan, a closeted gay teen, recorded himself in coming out to his mom.

His amazing mom gave the perfect response. Empathy, unconditional love, support, and her only concern was that he was upset.

It shows incredible vulnerability and caring for others that Ryan was willing to put this video out so that others might benefit from it. Perhaps a few parents or family members will happen across this and see, firsthand, how hard it can be for their child to come out, and what the fears and concerns are.

    Made me cry.

I've seen that, and wished I had a mom like his. She's such a great mother, and they're both lucky to have each other.

Oh yes, I remember watching this video a week ago or so. I shed tears too. Seeing him feel so vulnerable after telling his mom made me want to give him a hug.

At one point I think his mom says that she doesn't get his sexuality, but I think that's something she can acclimate to as they go along. Pretty soon he'll bring home an awesome boyfriend. Then it'll all make sense to her

What's more important is her support and concern for his happiness. Damn, I hope my mom would react similarly when I tell her one day.

Great video. Kudos to him for having the courage to share that with the world.

I didn't shed any tears, but I'll admit to wanting to hop into the video and give him a hug once the sobbing started. Glad it went well for him.

Feeling emotional after watching the video. It's pretty cool that he decided to share it with others.

Wow. Gives me a warm feeling. Thanks for sharing.

But I have to complain for a second... this video triggered a series of watching coming out videos for the past hour. Its a vicious time-sucking cycle.

Honestly? That video kinda scared the hell out of me. Id so much rather if i ever came out for my mum/dad to just say 'ok thats cool with me' or something along those lines, rather than get all emotional. The way i was raised i guess, i try not to show too much emotion. She seemed like an awesome mum though

I must have watched 100 of these videos over the past few weeks and this was definitely one of the more moving ones. The way his mom responded was awesome.

While this video ended up with a positive response, I think it was the most difficult to watch because of the level of emotion:

I saw that one, I'm always on the lookout for these live videos. I think Mallow610's is still my personal favorite. <3

Ha, I came out to my mum whilst she was watching TV too so that brings back memories! She reacted similarly too. Although I was 14, maybe 15. I gave myself a hard time for crying then so if a guy in his early twenties can, then I guess it was also fine for me.

edit: I've noticed the title says that he's a teen. oops.
    edit2: the guy's fit.

The way she reacts is brilliant but it's just like my Mum reacting to my confiding to her about a (non-sexuality related) crisis - the way she hugs him. It's very touching but all I could think was that my Mum reacted like that to a major crisis that was my fault but would be disappointed if I told her I was gay (which isn't my 'fault' or, in my opinion, a 'crisis'.)

I don't know how old you are but I feel the same way, on this website 28 can feel very old. Please, try and do what I'm trying to do, find a way to get there, one day. It is the antithesis of easy but I think we must...

I didn't feel anything from this video.. probably because I'm jealous.. I know my mom will never accept my sexuality...
