I got my 1st LEGO set when I was 5 (in 1990), it was a little blue an white cement truck. It was the start of a love affair that has lasted to this day. In the last 2 months or so I have been rebuilding all of my larger LEGO sets and buying new ones (not having to pay rent or buy food leaves a lot of disposable income) and putting them on display in my room. My sisters boyfriend has referred to my room as a "LEGO Shrine". Here are some pics of my "Shrine":

And least but not least, my pride and joy:

I've had a few of these sets since before a lot of of EC'ers were born. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

As you all can see, I'm still very much a kid at heart.:kiss:

    WOW.

And I thought I liked Lego a lot.

These are awesome, you must have a lot of patience to be able to make all these and follow the instructions. I've been bought sets in the past but I never followed them, I just used the pieces to make whatever the hell I wanted, being cursed with a low attention span.

And I think I spy the said "Blue and white cement truck" on your top shelf

Actually, that is a new one I bought at the beginning of the month. Most of the parts of the original truck got lost or broken over the last 18 years, so there was no way I could build it again. When I saw this one in the shop, I was overcome with nostalgia and bought it immediately.

My mom, is kinda as bad as you Negasta. Currently she has spent the last few days purely on sorting/buying/collecting lego . Well really we've all collected lego since we were knee high to a grasshopper. Our family is a BIG lego family. But right now mom has all of a sudden been going on ebay and just buying boxes and boxes of lego and lego men. My brother is actually building what he calls a "Freakin huge skyscrapper" in his room.

Wow, I have a lot of little boys at my house who would love to see Negasta's Lego collection! Unfortunately, South Africa is a little far for a field trip.

Haha. I just had a little box of generic legos, I loved to make houses. JUST houses. I got angry when my dad tried to make other things.

What I did love, however, and collected a LOT of, were Bionicles:

    Pohatu was my ABSOLUTE favorite.

In fourth grade, we even played Bionicles at recess (not the toys, we role-played as them. Haha.)

That's quite the passion. I'm sure you are aware that there are Lego conventions and competitions. Sign up!

Your post brings back quite a few childhood memories...

The blue flying ones... Unless I've got my ranges mixed up I had a little thing from that range and some stuff from the 'evil bad guys' range that countered that one...

I played with LEGO 'til quite a late point. I mainly collected the ranges that were precursors to the whole Bionicle thing, Slizers and the crazy motorcycle things.

I never had patience with lego. Mine always used to break so it would feel the wrath of my hand. :frowning2:

LEGO's are Danish! Based on wooden blocks that had pegs to fit together.

    Denmark contains Legoland. And me.

Awesome lego pics. especially the last one
How much have you spent on lego blocks?

I used to spend so much money on lego blocks.
This is the best one and the last one that I made. The side mirrors were gone by the time it got to Japan. Oh and the steering wheel works :icon_bigg

    Wow!

Oh my, I used to love LEGOs so much back then. I've gotten the Starwars and Artic pack thingy. I absolutely loved the space-mars themed legos! Too bad The last lego I bought was a looong loong time ago.

Now, they're all just in a box somewhere in the house, sitting :frowning2:
    poor legos...

Been to Legoland California though! OMG, it was kid heaven! They had a part there that had like reconstructions of real major cities, but in LEGO!
