Dream vacation spot?

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by HermioneGaynger, Jan 19, 2014.

  1. Hi people! Where is one place you are dying to visit?

Mine is Finland. All that snow and heavy metal sounds like my dreamland.

I wasn't convinced about the Highlands until I watched the latest James Bond... The scene in which he is driving a car in a valley just amazed me completely...

I would also love to go to an island with my best friends and just chill and not have to worry about anything

Faroe Islands. Rarely reaches above 60°F ,is overcast 260 days out of the year, the next closest inhabited area is 177 miles away, and has a population of only 50,000 so thee are vast swaths of land where you can feel completely isolated. Truly, an introvert's dream.

Japan. All of it. Before I lost my job I was saving up to go from one end to the other visiting just about every culture spot I could find. Now I have no savings :frowning2:

Having thought about it I'm really not sure how tolerant they will be of a giant foreign trans girl...oh well, that's their problem I guess :3

I've been here once before. One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited.

It's not necessarily a spot, but I'd love to drive back roads across the US with no agenda at all. Just a travel partner, a good map, and a spirit of adventure. And probably a spare gallon of gas just in case.

For many years I've wanted to make a return trip to London. My parents made a trip there the year before I was born, and four years later, decided they'd go back. And my mom insisted that my dad pony up the extra frequent flyer miles to bring me along so she could enjoy her trip rather than worrying 24/7 and running up huge phone bills by making an international call back to the United States to make sure I was okay every 30 seconds. I have a few blurry memories of it, I remember being at Scotland Yard, standing on the lions at Trafalgar Square, being at the British Museum, and a few bits and pieces of being on the flights there and back. I've wanted to go back and see it all again so I can remember everything this time.

Probably travelling all over the world with friends, it'll probably never happen though.

Finland. My family have two summer cottages there (one near Russia, the other near Sweden) and dozens of relatives. It's beautiful, but my Finnish is extremely limited.

I've been dreaming of going to New Zealand since I was about 6 or 7 years old. Now I'm saving up for it, and I'm going next December if everything works out. Kiwis, feel free to message me with recommendations for where I should (or shouldn't) go!

And something I'd love to do is get in my car and drive into Europe with no plan at all. Just... see where we'll end up.
