Would you find it weird or off putting if a woman was wearing cologne? Merely wondering, since I seem to be allergic to most perfumes but oddly not colognes. Besides I prefer the smell of most colognes.
Honestly, no. Ever since I was a little girl I loved how men's cologne smelled, often times more than women perfume, and I know of other girls who told me that they do too. I remember once my father received as a gift for my aunt a bottle of cologe that he didn't use, and I took it and started to wear it, even when I went to school and there were many of my female classmates who often asked me what kind of perfume I used because it smelled so good lol. I don't find it off putting at all.
Sounds fine to me. I'm not desperately fond of any scents, but cologne is no worse than perfume. Better maybe. As far as gender norms go, I'd actually prefer someone who liked to fuck with them. Oh, and Thedistra, your sig is so awesome
It's not as if scents need to be gendered. Just wear whatever perfume/cologne you like. If it smells better to you, there's no reason for you not to wear it just because it's marketed to men. The original cologne was gender-neutral, anyway, as were most perfumes.
Seconded! I love Pratchett's works, and that sounds so very much like him I can't help but laugh and at how true the words are. I wouldn't mind a woman who wore cologne. It smells nice, and there's no rule against it. The same rules about wearing too much of any scent apply no matter your gender, hey? It'd be nice if guys started wearing different flavors of perfume, too.
The problem with some perfumes are they are sickeningly sweet... Like my grandmothers lilac smelling abomination. Ewww. Colognes usually smell clean and crisp.
I wouldn't mind if a girl wore cologne, I don't think it's weird or anything like that. I wouldn't wear it myself unless by chance I found one I really like, I do like the smell though. Because I do like perfume and that's usually the section I would go to. I remember in high school when I went to the mall with some friends, and they all went and smelled the cologne and my friend even bought one. She didn't wear it out much she used it mostly inside and would smell it a lot.
I went shopping at ULTA for makeup last week and was looking at perfumes. After not being able to find anything that I liked, the sales woman sugested that I look in mens colonge as many women wear them. So, there ya go, perfectly normal!
Ya, I think that's probably it. I usually stand away from people with flowery perfumes, it is just to overpowering. Thank you.
The first word that came up in my mind when I saw the title of this is "hot". Seriously, why should it matter if we use some chemical that has been designated by commercial companies as "male"? What exactly is a male smell? It's all subjective...and even if there was such a thing as a "male" smell then why should it be restricted to only cis males? You go ROCK that cologne girl!
Nah, not really a BFD. Smell of Old Spice is another matter, though... (No offense to any Old Spice-wearing, female-identifying persons. My nose is probably the most prejudiced part of me.)
I don't mind at all. I love the smell of cologne, a woman or a man can be wearing it and I think it's attractive.
i wear axe it's kind of a reminder of how fluid my gender really is no matter how I dress. Also it works better than girls deodorant. I have a thing for non gender binary
i like the smell of cologne, i wear preferred stock but prefer women to wear perfume. the key though is not to much.
My 77 year old male, very heterosexual neighbor wears women's perfumes because he likes the smell better. His wife laughs about how he smells sweeter than she does. I think you should wear what you like. There are some delicious scents out there that really are just wonderful.
