I finished writing a song a few weeks ago, and I'd like people to hear it, but I'm kinda scared to tell people who it's written by.
Well, our choir does a little in-class talent show at the end of every month, so I thought, maybe I'll sing it then and say it was written by someone in the room and that she gave me permission to sing it there, as long as I didn't say her name.
And then maybe say she might step forward at the end if she gets some feedback from the choir...?
And maybe after hearing some opinions on it, I might admit that I wrote it?

Why deceive people? Just hold off saying who wrote it until you get positive reviews. Then you can let the cat out of the bag.
