I think 14 is a perfectly fine age to start dating...under say 12 or 11 might be too young though. It really depends on how mature they are as was said above.
14 is just fine. The only thing that sucks is depending on older friends/family for transportation unless you plan to walk or bike to wherever you go. Other than that, just don't do anything stupid.

My old woman mommy brain is screaming "no no too young" but I know I am really old fashioned and panic stricken by thoughts of my own kid starting dating. Hubby says 14-15. I say 16-17. Kiddo says "tomorrow?"
