I've read somewhere on another site a few people were saying that they were a kinsey scale 5 and saying it means being bi others say it's still gay . I've never heard some people saying being a 4 is bi too but some say it's gay and some people are saying 4and 5 is not gay and a 6 is gay .
I'm confused can some one explain

It's whatever you want it to be, as far as I'm concerned.

I believe the kinsey scale makes everything between 1 and 6 bi.

I've always called it Homoflexible. Characterized by minimal heterosexual activity despite a primarily homosexual sexual orientation

I use a chart like this to describe my view of the Kinsey scale as it relates to "straight", "bisexual" and "gay" identities:

Basically I think it is up to an individual to decide how to identify themselves. If a Kinsey 1 or 2 decides to identify as straight, you have no right to tell him he is actually bi. If a Kinsey 4 or 5 decides to identify as gay, you have no right to tell him he is actually bi. If a Kinsey 1 or 5 decides to identify as bisexual, you have no right to tell him he is actually straight or gay. Basically, just respect whatever identity an individual chooses for him or herself.

This is how I just determine it:

    0 - straight
    1 - heteroflexible
2 - bisexual with a preference for the opposite gender
    3 - bisexual
4 - bisexual with a preference for the same gender
    5 - homoflexible
    6 - gay

However that's just how I see it. And then you got us asexuals over here who fail the test because there are too many questions involving sex what whaaat

Argh! I've had it wrong this whole time!
I thought 4 was the middle grade!
That makes me a 3 on the scale, not a 4.

It's whatever you want it to be. I'm somewhere between 5 and 6, and some people may say that makes me bisexual, but I consider myself a Kinsey 6 and exclusively gay, just to keep it simple. I think the reason it isn't a full six is I'm somewhat panromantic.
