I've come out over time as a lot of different labels. I know that there are others out there, and since I hear shaming about "label jumping" all the time, I decided to see how many others there are out there.

So, How many times have you came out?

(When I was identifying as female, I came out as bi, pan, gay. Then I realized I was not cis, so I came out as bigender, then pangender, and finally FtM (with an androgynous streak). When I came to terms with being male, I also realized that I am ace, although I usually just identify as queer.)

Just once. I can't possibly begin to imagine how hard it would be to do it multiple times.

Just once as Demisexual, which is fine. That was more than enough for me to handle.

    @BradTheCat, what does "Ace" mean?

Skipped the questioning/bi phase and only came out as gay. That will be all I'll ever be in terms of labels.

It's short for asexual. (I'm good at using slang and then forgetting to define it..lol)

I had to come it twice since my parents scared me back into the closet the first time. :/

Told about 10 different people for support at first, then I was outed at school, then a year later I told my parents and one set of grandparents, and made a Facebook post for whoever else didn't know. So more than 5 times.

As for what label I came out as, only one, gay.

So if I came out to five people only as "gay" I should choose "1?"

I came out once as bisexual, and recently realized I'm genderqueer, so now I'm also out as trans to a few friends. (But only my inner circle.)

I've lost count, but they pretty much went ---> Curious --> Questioning --> Bisexual --> Genderqueer, or something. So you have all these people who have only been told I'm one thing, and some, another, with very few getting the "whole picture".

I might have casually thrown out the words "gay" and "trans" a few times during conversation with close friends and family.

    One label. Trans.
I only come out to those who I'm sure will be fine with it.
Living where I do, that's a substantial amount of the population.

The idea of the gender-binary was drilled into my head as a child, sort of like an indoctrination.

I was taught expressing certain things where "bad" from a young age, and my father is probably a bipolar depressed person who always snaps at every thing, if fact if I came out to him he might take his own life. So I can't, I will not kill my father with the truth, it is not time for me to emerge fully from the closet. Only four people know.

Two about my being Gender-Fluid, and four about me being Bi(Actually how does Orientation work for me cause some times I am more female than male some days, while other days more male than female, and usually some grey mixture in-between. Which of course if you are Indoctrinated into the Gender-Binary theme it just confuses you and makes you feel like theirs some thing wrong with you instead of their being some thing wrong with the ones unjustly judging you.)

Also I am not sure if I really am Bi or if I am Pansexual. All I know is that I am attracted to people with feminine appearances regardless of their actually sex or gender.
