It's a good film and well worth renting or buying if you can get it.

In the UK it is certificate 15 (so regarded as suitable for people aged 15 and over) so don't expect anything pornographic!

I'm gonna have to watch it again now!

Celine Dion rocks...

But... Is it just me, or did that movie seem a bit corney??? I mean, right from the start, it felt so tense and awkward and unrealistic. I mean, sleeping in (naked and inside eachother's arms) in their parents house, someone could have easily walked in. In real life they would have been so anxious that someone would walk through those doors any second that they would have never even allowed for a chance to be found out (especially after seeing how mean and pig-headedly masculine the brother and father were).

I think the thing that made it most unreal to me, was the fact that they never got persecuted at all (except the very last scene, where they walk out together.) I mean... that is the most relevant part of being gay to me.

and then the fight --> makeup. Ugh.

I think I am just bothered, because they gave away the whole plot in the trailer, and because they use the same old, cliche love movie plot: Boy crushes on girl, they get together, they break up, they get back together, the pronounce their love to the world. But! In this movie, its two boys, instead a boy and a girl.

Am I the only one that felt this way?

It is a bit cliché but it was made in 1995, from a play written in 1993 - 15 years ago. I'm sure it would have been done differently now.

EDIT: I just grabbed this screenshot while watching it.

I like summerstorm, though the subtitles get annoying every once in a while.

This trailer?

It does show some parts of the story, quite badly pieced together, but it doesn't really reflect the film itself.

Don't judge the film by that trailer, or the UK one (which is in the DVD but I can't find on YouTube) as they don't do it justice.

I'VE TOTALLY SEEN THAT MOVIE.

It's like, the only LGBT movie I've ever seen. Except I missed a big chunk of it.

And... I couldn't understand the British English! They talked too fast for me. ;_;
