I know Whitney Houston is no longer with us to make any more great music. I am a huge Celine Dion fan and I also love Whitney's music. I saw The Mariah or Beyoncé thread and thought this one would be great to make. Although I love Whitney Houston I have to say Celine Dion wins it for me. I love all of her music, and she has such a great personality.

    Who do you prefer?

Gonna have to say the same as in the Mariah and Beyonce thread:
They are both not my first choice, but I think Whitney Houston sounds better.

I don't like female artists, but if I have to choose...uhm, I'd say Whitney.

I always say that the 3 best modern, mainstream, female singers are Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey. They are all extremely gifted vocally, yet all have a unique sound. Not really a fan of any of their music. So, without that bias and basing my vote on talent, I think it's a tie.

Neither. Although their music is phenomenal. Well, some of it anyway...

To be frank, I've never actually heard of a song by either of these two ladies; although I presume I have heard their songs at stores or in films.

I love Celine, but only Whitney makes me wanna dance with somebody.

Yes, you have. Celine Dion- "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, "Because You Loved Me" because you are around my age and couldn't get away from this song in the mid- to late 90s.

Whitney Houston- "I Will Always Love You" from The Bodyguard, and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody(Who Loves Me)" and "Saving All My Love For You" because again, they played it all the time during our childhoods.

Trust me, you may have not known it was them but you have heard their music.

You're right, although I've never watched Titanic or The Bodyguard . My parents always kept it on country radio stations so we heard plenty of Kenny Chesney, George Strait, and Alan Jackson around that time. My only major exposure was probably the background music they play at stores. I'm going to listen to the songs you listed to see if they bring back memories .

Whitney. Celine Dion's voice makes me want to put holes in things.
