The following text and image are what I emailed the Admin at this online academy thingy I go to instead of public school. Yes, the fields have been blanked out as well as my email. I dunno if that was the thing to say, but it really becomes sort of stressful. Any thoughts?
I know that for some schooling, statistics have to be reported to state agencies and the Department of Education (for instance, for Title IX purposes) so that may be one of the reasons why educational organizations use the binary for gender. Also, in our society, gender and sex are synonymous. I suspect "gender" is more PC than "sex" because it removes the "sexual" aspect of biological sex. Not that this helps.
Be happy that you are lucky enough to live in the country and in the time that makes it possible for you to be surprised and angry about that fact. NO form that I have ever seen had other options. And 99% of the people here never heard about a third gender. On top of that we have only one word for gender and sex. You have no idea how lucky you are. Enjoy your anger. And I mean it in a good way. I would add be more humble. But I believe you are young and young age doesn't go well with that.
Oh and I did try editing the HTML behind it in the same format, but,.... it didn't work, but I'm going to try again. I know what you're saying, it just pisses me off.
