I have a southern painted turtle that has an abscess on its head that i have to get removed tomorrow.. its only a baby so it may or may not come back alive

anyways just thought i would tell you, i have only had this thing for a couple months but he is the coolest thing ever!

awww, my turtle up and died about a month ago. I don't know why, he seemed in good health.

I hope things turn out better for you. Turtles are such fascinating animals.

aww how old was he? they are so interesting! i love watching him bask, and its almost funny how quickly he goes from the other side of the aquarium to the other!

I have such an 'aww' factor for anything remotely little. This is why I've been pining for my kitty ever since I got to London

Sorry to hear about that. I hate seeing animals suffering because they can't tell us humans what's bothering them. I hope tomorrow the vet can take care of that and the little guy will be fine.

good news! the vet said it might not even be an abcess, but a fungal or viral infection. if its viral it has to wait its course, but if it is a fungal infection he gave me some medicine to put on the turt.. he said it should only be cut off if it gets about 4 times bigger
