"You don't look gay"

I dont look gay at all most people are quite surprised if I mention am gay .

 

Holy crap i wish i had a dime for every time ive heard that!
My favorite response is "aparantly i do, cause i'm gay and this is the way i look". Try it their imediate reaction is usually priceless.

Perfect! I've never had this problem... but I'd say "Who made you the authority on gayness!?" Or maybe "SUPRIRSE! Gay people vary as much as straight people!"

 

Haha, yes. In all honesty, some people then try to retrospectively point out things that made me "look" gay. Maybe I dressed a little too proper, maybe I didn't gawk at girls. As they say, hindsight is 20/20. But, in general, I appear straight, based on first-hand witness accounts :lol:.

 

Most people say I don't come across as gay. Some people can somehow tell. But most everyone that have known me for a longer time say that it makes sense seeing as I was never much into ladies. Well, yeah.

 

Well, i just say "but i am" and that's it...

 

Nobody has ever suspected me of being gay, until I actually tell them (which I don't always - because it isn't really relevant IMO).

 

I actually get told that I do look gay, but as a butch lesbian and not as a man who prefers men. It's quite frustrating. Yes, I'm gay (mostly), but it's because I'm also trans. Yeah, the conversations about this get kind of confusing.

Actually... opposite problem.
I am bi, with a preference for men, but everyone, including my stepbrother all say i "look like a lesbian"
Is it cause I am short, chunky, and wear comfy clothes instead of girly ones? cause honestly, i like being comfy.

 

Haha I jokingly said that to my country boyfriend lol

I've had people say to me that they had no clue I was gay...then on the flip side I've had people who told me that they could tell I was gay after five seconds of getting to know me. It really is about a 50/50 thing for me. :/

 

I start laughing when I hear people saying something like that xD.

 

I get that EVERY SINGLE TIME. Usually followed by "you're not ONLY into guys, right?"

I don't take offense to it at all though

 

Some people can tell (my friend said I looked like a lesbian biker lol), most can't/don't care. I'm "butchy" but not a full on butch, I still have long hair and wear girl's clothes, they just aren't super feminine (leather jacket, button up collared shirts)

 

I laugh and usually say something along the lines of 'Well the more you know'

 

I get that all time time. I always just pretend to be suddenly surprised and upset that I forgot my newon rainbow "gay" sign above my head,
