When closeted, were you ever caught/questioned about your orientation?

I still kinda am so I don't know if this applies to me but when I was about 15 I went to the hospital and a strange girl said "You like boys, huh?" So I obviously said "Wtf hell no". I still don't know why she said that. To this day that's the first and last time that's ever happened to me.

 

I can remember being questioned a few times. I cant work out why - ialways tried to be consciously straight but i guess i was more obvious then i thought.

One of them was one of my managers at work - she just straight up asked me if i was gay, but i kinda laughed it off and said i had a girlfriend. The other one was a girl i knew from community college - when we were getting to know each other she asked me the same thing and i denied it.

And my mum too - im home for holidays and i said "im glad i left to go to college" and she said "yeah it must be hard being young and gay in this town". I didnt realise what she meant at the time but it hit me later on that she might actually know.

Its like, do i have a big sign above my head or something? :lol: its only ever been girls that have questioned me though.

 

I'm still closeted to most people. I think my count is up to 9 now (therapists don't count, and yes I have more than one, lol). Anyway, pretty sure everyone has suspected it at various points in my life. Never dated in college, and when I got my hair cut short, rumors spread (stupid Baptist school and their fucking stereotypes). Now that it's short again, and I'm 'out' as an 'ally', pretty sure everyone thinks I'm gay. I don't mind. I know when I do come out, people are going to be like 'finally!' (And I'll be like, 'ditto!')

 

Everyone who knew me suspected that I was gay before I even realised it myself. Ha ha.

 

A few times, but I don't think anyone actually knew, they just thought I might be.

 

Well, about a year ago, this girl accused me of being a lesbian and then assaulted me for being too honest about my thoughts about sexuality.
But that was before I was completely sure of my sexuality.

 

Yes by the person I cared to discuss it with the least.

 

Oh this, definitely. If I had a pound coin for every time I had "you're gay right?" said to me at school, I'd be rich! Indeed, everybody seemed to know about my sexuality before I did! My dad even outright asked me twice and I awkwardly kept silent and didn't say either way. :eusa_doh:

Well, my best friend randomly asked me once if I like girls. So yeah. But besides that, no-one's ever asked or seemed to think it.

 

A friend asked me if i was into girls and I said yes then she says ' I kind of thought so'.

Other times (not recently though) my dad or brother make little jokes about me being gay.

 

No, i've been asked before on the internet usually in games if I was gay and ofc I said no >.>

 

Could be worse. I've been asked on the internet before if I was a girl...sometimes I'd get bored and just roll with it too

 

Let's see:

1) my stepfather called me a faggot on several occasions
2) my biological father suspected I was a homosexual, I visited him once at the age of 16; 14 years after not interacting with him, just for a couple of weeks, that's all it took...hmmm
3) When I was 13, some neighbour friend of ours saw how I looked at her "Playgirl" collection and suggested I might be gay
4) Learned only now how many of my mother's friends thought I was gay when young (of course hindsight is 20:20)
5) All of my failed relationships with women
6) My soon to be ex-wife strongly suspects, she'll know when the divorce is final.

It's strange living in a glass closet...

 

It's always a good sight to see when someone who harassed you your freshman year of high school and called you a fag now has a red equals sign as his profile picture...

 

actually, i WAS asked before if i was a girl xP
i sometimes try to go along with it to see how funny the situation can get, but ye it didnt happen too much ^^

 

I'm closeted, but many people have suspected. Most of them also wouldn't believe me when I denied it, so I started telling them I was asexual when they asked me, which many of my friends accepted because it explained my lack of interest in guys. One friend still doubted, and she's the only friend I'm out to.

 

I think a few people may suspect but no one has questioned me on it. Oh and I love your signature. I adore "West Wing", actually just watched that episode last night.

 

A few of my friends have kinda figured it out I think. But no one else seems to have ANY idea that I like guys. But I barely make any effort to hide it. I'm just not obvious I guess.

I don't mind people knowing though, I hope they all figure it out
