I'm currently eating a bowl of oatmeal with dried apricots, freeze-dried pineapples (Crunchies), and two tablespoons of flax seeds, and I was wondering what else I could put on oatmeal. Then I came across this:

    http://www.bobsredmill.com/oatmeal/all-oatmeal-toppings.php

So if you love oatmeal as much as I do (which is a lot), you may want to try some of these. I want to try the Get Your Goat because I love goat cheese.

What about you guys? Anybody else love oatmeal and want to give one of these a try? Do you have your own ideas and/or links you'd like to share?

I like plain oatmeal (steel-cut oats) sweetened with some brown sugar (I like muscovado and turbinado). If I'm feeling a bit adventurous, I'll add some real maple syrup (not that Aunt Jemima crap) and some pecans.

To be honest, though, a lot of those recipes from the link made me want to vomit, haha.

I know. I don't think I could eat The Alaskan. I'm sorry, but meat on oatmeal is not my thing. Maybe on grits, but not oatmeal.

The Elvis would be stretching it for me, but I'd like to try it.

Oh, shit, I love that stuff! As a kid, I think that was my favorite.

Have the brown sugar kind and I'm in. As AlamoCity mentioned, real maple syrup makes that even better.

Or you could just throw in some blueberries(blueberry fanatic here; go figure :smilewave).

NOT me. =/ Too bad, because it's so cheap and nutritious. But I've hated it for as long as I can remember, especially raw, but cooked, too.

    Spoken like a Texan. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I normally eat my oatmeal with golden raisins (less dry/tough than regular raisins), cinnamon, and either honey or maple syrup.

I can't say I've ever heard of that, but I'm really into non-dairy milk, so I'm going to have to look into it. Thanks.

    Um, thanks?

I dunno. I usually just put whatever dried fruit I have lying around in my oatmeal. I really like apricots, but my favorite is dried cranberries.

I like my oatmeal with big chunks of Gala apples and a healthy dose of cinnamon. Not usually much sugar, though - I always add too much! If I've got them, I'll add cooked blueberries, like the kind you use as pie filling.

The 'Romancing the Bowl' one looks fantastic. Yum, strawberries.... And the 'Hang Loose' one looks good too.

Oatmeal is one of my favourite hot breakfasts. I usually just sprinkle some flax and raisins on it!
I'm trying to not sweeten everything I eat, haha.

I love flax seeds! They add a nice, nutty flavor to things. They're delicious.

Romancing the Bowl looks great. I already like Nutella on my oatmeal, preferably with peanut butter. I bet it would be awesome with strawberries.
