I feel that the media and circumstances are deviating attention unintentionally from one to another, so that we forget about the rest and focus on something new.

When the situation in Russia became visible due to the approaching Sochi games, there was so much going on, with petitions, blood-oaths and castrations. Ever since the Games began they were quietly forgotten (except by those living in Russia of course).

Now everyone is like ''z0mg Uganda'' [IMG]

Unfortunately people have orgasms over one area, with the encouragement of the media, then on another (and subsequently forget about the previous one) with the result that nothing ever is actually done. Signing petitions, writing angry and pointless articles or blogs is not going to help those people, it is just another outlet of your rage towards it. Debating and arguing about it does not seem to work.

Frankly, as uncomfortable as it sounds, the only thing that might effect would be actual force from LGBT-supportive countries but that has so many side-effects that it will never be considered.

It'd be better if more people could see the bigger picture. Still I'm glad by now enough are aware for there to be debates and petitions even if they're of no effect. It's a start anyway.
