New kittens ^^

    So all night my cat has been harrassing me. She wouldn't let me sleep, I had no idea why she was just being extra 'in my face' I finally got annoyed and kicked her out of the room, and right as I was about to fall asleep I hear my cousin screaming for me.

    I go into her room, and there's the cat, popping out babies on my cousin's bed.

    I love kittens, but I really dodged a bullet letting some one else deal with the mess lol

    No I knew the cat was pregnant, it was hard not to notice that. I didn't realize she was in labor

    Oh, I see.

    How many kittens are there? What sexes are they? How cute are they?

    I wish I could have a litter of kittens in my home, but my parents don't want to do that.

    It's hard to tell the sex of a kitten right off the bat. We foster little kittens all the time (bottle feeding too) and sometimes we have to wait a while before it becomes clear that they are male or female.

    Three kittens: The first was white with orange spots, The second is white with orange and black spots ( looks exactly like momma ), and the last one was white and black.

    They are ADORABLE! I love their little baby meow. It's so cute <3

    I haven't gotten to check yet because...well, you aren't supposed to touch newborn kittens. It's bad for their health so we're keeping our distance for the time being.

    Kittens are cute and all, but watching a cat push a kitten out of her is BLEH >.>

    That one is almost certainly female. Orange and black colouration result from two different alleles on the X chromosome, so a cat needs two X chromosomes to have both colours in their coat.

    (I audited an animal genetics class as a homeschooling student.)

    Yeah, I'd find that pretty tough.

    I just love the mother's expression in those pictures, too. She looks so proud of her new litter.

    I want to name the Black, white, and orange kitty 'mini-me' because she looks just like her momma :slight_smile:

    We're naming the black and white one Moo moo kitty II

    Sorry for the double post.

    Update: The cat had a stillborn kitten :frowning2:

    It was stuck inside of her, and we had to spend the last two hours trying desperately to get the thing out of her because if we didn't our cat and the live kittens were gonna die >.>

    Luckily though, we were successful and now I'm just hoping the kitten adventure is done.

    Haha if there was a way to mail kittens I'd give you one lol

    I love the little guys, but once they're big enough we'll probably have to pick one to keep and give the other two away. We can't really afford feeding five cats. For the time being though they're breastfeeding so until they're able to do okay on their own they'll be around ^^

    well they are fantastic!

    Partner and I once bought gerbils we were assured we both male...how the other ten gerbils got in the cage is beyond me
