We are an interracial couple, both our home-countries are extremly gay intolerant. I had to leave my home-country and move to my gf's as it was unbearable there. In my gf's country it is safer at the moment but we have no future here. First - i dont know local language to get a job, second - being interracial couple - everybody just staring at us with the comments that either my gf is a hooker for tourists or im a tourist who wants to have a sex adventure. Thats it. Thats how people see us here and thats how it will always be. Third - being gay in her home country my gf will never get a serious and well-paid job. If we do not take right steps now ill have to go back to my home country in a year or so, my gf will stay in her country alone with no future, no opportunities to collect money for when she is old, no property, no medical insurance, nothing. :bang:

Sorry that was a mess introduction. It is just how i feel now. So we made a research on the countries that are gay-friendly and that we should try to move to. We dont want to move as refuges or illegally. So what we have now - middle age couple, economist\musician, have money to provide ourselves for about 2 years before we find job, no health issues, no criminal records. We just want to live without feeling freaks and rejected every time we go out of the house.

Now there are countries that look welcome to gay immigrants and fight for gay rights. Germany, Canada, Australia...They criticize our home-countries for being gay intolerant, they say that gays are welcome in these countries. But in fact it looks like someone who fights for animal rights but in fact will never pick up a kitten in the street. My point is when im reading all the immigration laws and rules it just seems impossible for us to immigrate. They offer residence for specialists. Ok im a specialist, i have a university degree, i have a work experience, but my experience is not significant enough for them, my education is not good or not accepted because im from THAT country so i do not qualify for immigration program. They offer residence for investors. Invest 300.000 euro and you get a residence. How the hell is that possible if our income is around 500 euro a month? They offer to go study in their universities. 20.000USD for a year, limited allowed work time for students. See the above. No money for that.

So the more i read the more i realize there are no countries who show real support to gay people, who really ready to help. I cannot even find any community to ask a legal advice. That is ridiculous.

what country are you from? most nations presently dont have any measures for gay immigrants sadly. but keep in mind thats changing fast.im sorry your degree dosnt mean much i know that is very often the case for new zealand and oz.could you handle new zealand its still hard but immagration here does factor in humantarian factors.and it will allow you to work in oz without needing a visa when you get a passport.

The Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Noway, Sweden) are the best when it comes to gay acceptance. I should know, I live here. I think Sweden is the one with the least strict immigration laws, so that would be the best one in your case I think

Burg, Yeah i know about oz and nz. I just talked with canadian immigration lawyer who said we have no chances for skilled-worker/ self-employment immigration. And immigration programes in canada, nz and oz are pretty much same. It is just scary to realize that there is just no hope. We were sure there are some programmes/communities that could help us.

I know this sounds surprising coming from me, but try the United States. We have looser immigration laws than other first world nations. Yes, we have a shit ton of problems right now, and our system of government isn't exactly sane, but the job market is about what it is in the other countries you are looking at, and we take in a lot more people than they do. You'll get paid worse than in Western Europe unless you are in a high paying field, but I'm guessing it's still a lot better than where you are living now. When it comes to gay tolerance, it depends on where you live. There are plenty of areas that are very accepting, and a lot of states have fully legalized gay marriage and have laws banning discrimination against LGBTs. Make sure to do your research carefully. It'll be easier to get here than Canada, Oz, or N-Zed, but it won't be easy, and there are a lot of regions you don't want to move to.

If 'Murica just isn't tenable to you, I have heard rumors that Ireland isn't too hard to get into, but that is unsubstantiated, so take it with a spoonful of salt, and I'm not too well versed in the situation regarding LGBT individuals. I would also keep an eye on the situation in Scotland. If they do declare independence from the UK, they will probably need to import a lot of specialists at first to make up for workers lost to the UK during the separation process and to jump start the new economy. If I'm right in that, I'll be signing up alongside you.

Thanks a lot for your reply. The problem with the first world nations, well all gay-friendly countries i checked is the following: they offer skilled immigration or immigration for refugees. Now im from a 3rd world country, same for my girlfriend. Too many straight ppl want to run away from our countries to America just for a better life, too many illegal immigrants. So all applications for immigration from our countries are initially considered as fraud. Our work experience, our education is not attractive to first world nations. Too many people create stories just to get to those countries as refuges pretending they are gays. To apply as refugee you need to show the evidence (medical reports, police reports stating you were imprisoned or hit for being gay) that your life is in danger. In this case you will probably be accepted as a refugee. Without evidence - you will get ban to enter this country forever. I have no evidence, i dont want to be imprisoned and i dont want to be hit. I hide all my life then run away from my country to hide in another place. Plus we have elderly parents and have to come to our home countries once our parents need us. Being refugee you can just go back.
