Hey, evvies! I had a fun idea: what LGBT related historical events do you hope to see? Even if you're not sure if it happened already. Here are some things I'd like to see: Transgendered Miss America A scene in a kids' educational video about not bullying LGBT schoolmates LGBT history included in textbooks LGBT valentines in stores Hopefully, these will get the ball rolling.
well the biggest i can think of is same sex marriage being made legal and none revocable at least in the u.s.
Having same sex couples not have to hide holding hands in public or in school. I've only seen two my whole life and I had to control myself before getting an autograph.
I've never seen LGBT Valentine's other than online, but I have seen anniversary cards at the mall near where I used to live in Kansas. Seems like the Valentine's should have shown up first though. xD
Marriage equality legalized nationwide. LGBT history included in textbooks and LGBT sex ed People talking about liking boys and/or girls as if they were saying I like Asians and/or Latinos. An LGBT president Rupaul's drag race completely replacing ANTM
Honestly, the only thing I truly must see in my lifetime is the decriminalization of homosexuality worldwide. It seems as though many people brush off the fact that in many countries in the world that being homosexual or transgendered can land a person in jail or even get them executed.
If you listen to most history buffs and read his journals, Buchanan was probably the first gay president, albeit he was not out to the public, but most people knew anyways. But yeah, an open LGBT president would be awesome. Same sex marriage legalized everywhere in the US, federally and statewide hate crime legislation passed on state level nondiscrimination acts on federal/sate level FDA lifting the blood ban on MSMs more celebration of LGBT history month in schools
Female president with a first lady or a male president with a first-gentleman. The ability to select more than two options for gender on forms and legal documents and liscenses. the invention of more gender-neutral pronouns, clothing, and merchandise. Society no longer obsessing about gender-roles: for example working fathers who provide and stay at home moms. Same-sex couples being allowed to marry. Less hate and bigotry targeted toward lgbt people. ---------- Post added 8th Mar 2014 at 09:51 PM ---------- Also sex ed classes should describe same sex relationships and not just straight ones so our children are aware of the truths.
