I'm curious what your take on this is - are bisexuals represented by the gay pride flag or are they only represented by the bi pride flag? I ask because I love both of them.

I've always seen the rainbow flag as representing the LGBT community overall. The other flags represent the different sub-groups within the LGBT umbrella.

I think rainbow flag now is for all LGBTQ+ not just gay and lesbian ^^

This ^^ I like to think of it as the pride flag is the "country" flag, and then each of the "States" have their own flag, like for trans it's the blue, pink, white flag.
So I don't think it would hurt having both (as States in the U.S. fly both on the same pole) ^^ fly them with pride =)

The rainbow flag isn't just the "gay" flag, it is a representation of the entire LGBT+ community as a whole.

I've heard someone (probably on Youtube) explain that the rainbow flag represents diversity among all people, not just the LGBT community. I like that idea a lot. But yeah, all sexual orientations are represented.

I wasn't aware there was a solely gay flag, but the LGBT colors for all LGBT are commonly sported at gay events, since they're probably the largest and most visible of the groups represented. I have a few rainbow bracelets, myself.

The pride flag represents pride in being human and being diverse. So yes, it is represented.

Yes. Underrepresented in the queer community, perhaps, but the flag represents all of us. The significance of the colours illustrates this. All the colours for all the queer people. Diversity. That sort of thing.

Simple answer? Yes. Complex answer? What would a cis/hetero person say a rainbow flag is for? Gay people. Bi and anything other than totally cis/homo are sort of under the radar still, but baby steps.

    I think they are.

I talk about the "gay flag" when referring to it, but I believe it's all-inclusive. It's just easier to say "gay flag" than it is to say "LGBT+ flag"

I think the other LGBT flags are merely like sub-divisions, and are more specific to a certain sexual orientation. But the rainbow flag is like the "big umbrella"

I certainly think so. Calling it the 'gay flag' or the 'pride flag' is quicker and easier to say than 'LGBTQIA+ flag' but I don't believe that means everyone under those headings isn't represented. I like the way Plenilune put it best, that it's the 'national' flag, and then the other, more specific ones are the 'state' flags. I normally call it a pride flag instead of a gay flag anyway.
